We have a DS already, Samuel.

I think we've narrowed down his baby brother to Oscar or Finley - which do you prefer and please don't say neither!

Neither are as classic and lovely as Samuel, sorry.

traceybath · 19/01/2009 11:58

my sister is about to have a finley.

Oscar

quickdrawmcgraw · 19/01/2009 13:50

Finley- because Finn is also nice as a shortened name.

MissClavel · 19/01/2009 13:50

Oscar - love it. Would have used it for DC3 if she's been a boy.

Nicocacola · 19/01/2009 13:51

Oh I love both! I love love love Finley, but think I would choose Oscar as it's less popular.

LackaDAISYcal · 19/01/2009 13:51

I have a Finlay, with an A; tis getting very popular.

Fimbo · 19/01/2009 13:51

Oscar better than Finley

But I think Finley looks better spelt Finlay

thequietone · 19/01/2009 13:52

How funny this is for me. DS1 was going to be called Oscar, but he ended up being born on the day the Oscars are announced, so...he was named Finlay!

preggersplayspop · 19/01/2009 13:52

I like both. I prefer Oscar I think.

stillstanding · 19/01/2009 13:53

Oscar

FruitynNutty · 19/01/2009 13:55

Oscar definitely! DP won't allow it for our DS so please use it!!!!
Finn is very popular at the moment. Oscar is getting that way too but that's what happens if you want a lovely traditional name

Thrifty · 19/01/2009 13:58

Finley is very popular here, ds's pre-school contains 12 boys and 4 of them are Finley's, no Oscar's though. I quite like Oscar,I know of 3 cats called Oscar but no children.

ForeverOptimistic · 19/01/2009 14:03

Finley is lovely.

Oscar is okay but a bit too canine for my liking.

LouMacca · 19/01/2009 14:08

Finley (agree prefer Finlay)

Think is sounds much nicer with Samuel.

Sam & Finn - lovely!

JulesJules · 19/01/2009 14:11

Finlay - lovely
Oscar - good name for a cat imo

NINALL · 19/01/2009 14:14

Son is 5, in a class of 11 and has a Finlay, Finley and Finn. Love the name Oscar, always have!

CrackopentheBaileys · 19/01/2009 14:23

I think that Oscar goes better with Samuel than Finley.
They are both cute names though

sonniebonnie · 19/01/2009 14:45

I prefer Finley - great shortened to Finn. Sam and Finn sound cute together!

Oscar ok but reminds me of Sesamestreet...

If your going to use Finn anyway, why not just call him Fynn (Irish means Fair). Or if your partner, dad, grandad have red hair you could call him Flynn
