what will we do? Where am I going to find a name from? Who wants the dubious honour of picking one for me?

Alyssa (but I am biased!)

justneedsomesleep · 11/01/2009 20:45

fears that dd's name will now rie in popularity now i have gone and typed it...

But it is lovely and derived from Alice and 3 syllables!

pgwithnumber3 · 11/01/2009 20:45

dizzy and pinkjenny - SORRY! I LOVE LOVE Alexandra but I am not a fan of Lexie, only because a girl from DH's past called her DD Lexie-Sue and it just put me off the name. Please please please accept my sincere apologies.

LOL at all the replies, I am still here, not having the baby yet thank god as I haven't packed my bag yet. I am still stuck though, songbird has wrecked Alice for me by quoting that awful song! I did fall asleep last night on the sofa!

Do you think I should just called her "she who shall not be named" - Shewho for short?

Seriously, I have a problem, why can't I decide on a name?

WE DECIDED ON AMELIE

have bag of baby things sorted, just need to wash 'em

SoMuchToBits · 11/01/2009 20:49

I like Juliet, Isabel, Miranda and Rosamond.

But also think Alice is a good name.

midnightexpress · 11/01/2009 20:49

Don't worry about it - we were the same with ds2 - in the end we waited till he was born, chose a name (2 in fact) and then tried them both on for size for a few days and then changed our minds, so we got loads of cards with the wrong name on them. In the end we gave him the name we'd chosen for ds1 and then abandoned as soon as he was born and we realised it didn't suit him at all.

All of which to say, don't stress about it too much - you'll probably choose a name and then change your mind anyway.

Oh my little Lulu, I wondered where you were last night! How sweet are you re texting from the hospital, I will get DH to give you a bell if I do my normal "I CAN"T DO IT" mantra!
Thank you darling!

Amelie has been obliterated by the MNner who said that her friend says Amelie is the noughties version of Kylie! Put me right off.

DH quite likes Alyssa. I am going to go through all the names on here with him in a minute and will report back to who makes our Top 10. Everyone hold your breath...

why what happened last night? did you have an ice cream emergency !!

pgwithnumber3 · 11/01/2009 21:06

LOL from the hundreds of names on this thread, DH only really quite likes Alexandra and Alyssa! PMSL.

We are truly fucked. There isn't a name in the UNIVERSE which we can both agree on.

pgwithnumber3 · 11/01/2009 21:08

Nothing happened, I thought you would have noticed this thread, clicked it could only be me and put in your tuppence worth!

How many names have I decided on now with your help but then to discard them?! You and dizzy will receive a medal for your input into my daughter's name.

Arden is lovely (means passionate)

Eliza would have been my choice if DC 3 had been a girl

Alice is pretty (DD middle name) but to be honest the song does pop into your head. We all received party invites from a v quiet and relatively new girl in ds class called Alice and all the Mums were texting each other asking 'Who the fuck is Alice' :-(

justneedsomesleep · 11/01/2009 21:10

woo hoo! For Alyssa!

stardazzle · 11/01/2009 21:10

what about annalise or annalisa that goes nicely with your other dd's and your surname

singyswife · 11/01/2009 21:11

So whats wrong with Alexandra?? Maybe call her Alex. Or what about Alexis??

singyswife · 11/01/2009 21:12

I meant (I didnt put it very well), why cant you name her Alexandra if you LOVE it and dh likes it too??

pgwithnumber3 · 11/01/2009 21:27

Hmm, Alexandra Owens, hmm, hmm, hmm don't know if it feels right

blackrock · 11/01/2009 21:30

Mathilda
Miranda
Milly Millicent
Melanie

Amaya

singyswife · 11/01/2009 21:33

A cousin of my dh has just had a baby and they names her Halle. I thought this was really different??

justneedsomesleep · 11/01/2009 21:35

Alyssa Owens

pgwithnumber3 · 11/01/2009 21:40

justneedsomesleep desperately wants to be the winner! Alyssa Owens does sound quite nice though.

Alyssa, Grace & Maya. Lissy for short. We may have a winner. For today anyway.

Would piss myself if baby turns out to be a boy. Now could you imagine that thread...

dizzydixies · 11/01/2009 21:40

lulu don't be lured in by her promises, she had promised me MONTHS ago that she'd decided on Camille nn Mimi

she's a name tart I tell you

what about Alexa then?

Grace, Maya and Alexa?

cannot believe you didn't like my shortlist that I was thinking about even after I logged off and went to bed - am fully aware of how sad I am

justneedsomesleep · 11/01/2009 21:41

also wanted to call dd Cadence (if you are musically inclined)
Cassandra (Cassie) too was considered

justneedsomesleep · 11/01/2009 21:43

i also have a boy whose name is up for grabs!

We call dd Issa for short (that's how she used to pronounce it!)
Sometimes izzy and and her initials also spell ACE

singyswife · 11/01/2009 21:47

Do you know it is a girl pg??
