Baby daughter just over 2 weeks old and still no progress on names. Both the wife and I had names we liked, but we can't agree.
I seem to like names derived from boys names like Charlotte and Harriet plus one that has significant meaning to me, Violet (a coincidence they all end with an 'et' sound?). Bizarrely before the birth I thought I liked Americanised names like Brooke and Logan (yeah, I know!).
The wife's list reads like the current top 10 . She likes Emily, Ella, Emma, Amy, Rosie, Imogen and the such.
So, ladies (and gentlemen), this is your mission...
We're not looking for thoughts on our existing ideas, but use them as a base to try and find us some new suggestions. Also try not to use variations of names we've suggested as we would have considered these.... Because, somewhere out there, there must be a name we've missed/overlooked that'll be perfect for our DD (there, I've finally used an acronym and then undone all the good by having a long sentence in brackets straight after!).
So to try and please us both the name would need to be a known name, maybe something old school and 'classic' but acceptable today and not too fuddy duddy, nothing that's too fashionable or of the moment. Something a little different but not bizarre. A name that people might know but not have met 5 others on the way down the garden path. The wife likes "eeee" sounds at the end of names - I'm not a fan, but would consider a shorter version of the actual name (which is why I thought the Charlotte/Lottie type thing could work). The wife would like a girlie/pretty name.
Sure there's criteria I've forgotten too!
Middle name will be Suzanne after the MIL (dec'd).
Apologies for the long post - but it's kinda important! Maybe I'll offer a cash reward
Cheers
