Hello. I am having a baby girl, due end of april. Our surname is Webb so would like something to go with it.

DH really likes Mia but I think it is a bit short to go with Webb?

I really like Madeline (how ever you spell it, will obviously check if we choose it), Matilda, Leyla/Leila.

Also came into conversation today was calling her April or May (depending on when she is born). I like it, but don't love it iyswim.

Not going to talk to family about names as they hated everything we liked last time and vice versa.

We're expecting a girl in april... she's going to be a Ruby Marie..... we wavered so much as the name is so popular, but it sounds perfect with our unusual surname and also sounds just lovely with our other DC's names too!!

I also liked:
Maegan (pronounced may-gan)
April
Charlotte
Collette
Ann-marie
Olivia

but all were ruled out either becasue they didn't go with the middle name we decided to use (its a family name) and our surname... Ruby is all we settled on!!

And our DD1 is Bethany Louise

chloejessmeg · 11/12/2008 17:11

I love Megan but it is ruled out because
a) my sister who has been TTC for ages really wants megan if she has a girl
b) Our niece is called Tegan which is very similar and a lovely name

Leila is quite nice as is Lila. I also like Sophia, Anya, Iris, Maisie, Maya & Eve.

I keep plugging this one cos I just think its beautiful.

Romilly.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 11/12/2008 17:26

I alos love flower sort of names... but DH hated them so could never call my DD them... Poppy, Rose, Daisy... I alos like Milly and Molly... in fact my sister is calling her DD Milly because she always liked it when i mentioned it for my DD's but DH said no!!

nowwearefour · 11/12/2008 17:34

maamajullah · 11/12/2008 17:47

Laila Webb, Layla Webb... nice
but i like Suri Webb

storkycake · 11/12/2008 17:47

I read your OP and thought of Annalise. I think that's very pretty and would go well with your surname.

chloejessmeg · 11/12/2008 17:50

Glad people like my names!

Now getting confused about the Mia thing. MIL thought that was pronounced different to me. How would everybody spell and pronounce it?

storkycake · 11/12/2008 17:52

Mia (mee-a)

Maya (m-eye-a)

They are both quite common though (well where I live anyway)

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 11/12/2008 17:54

i agree with Storky (hi btw) thats how i'd pronounce them!!

storkycake · 11/12/2008 17:56

ooh 'ello Glas

My Dd's 'normal' middle name is Anastasia, I suppose you could have that if you liked it

BINAH · 11/12/2008 18:08

sarah
rebecca

chloejessmeg · 11/12/2008 19:04

I thought that was how it was too but MIL and BIL thought different.

Love Poppy and also Kayla, Grace, Melissa and Skye.

Annalise is what my (other) sister wants and I am happy to let her. And it is a bit similar to DDs name of Elouise (sort of!)

Like Lila and Leila - also what about Lilia?

KateF · 11/12/2008 19:10

I have a Susannah known as Suzy! So nice to see it appreciated, usually we just get looks.

WhileShosheWatchedHerFlocks · 11/12/2008 19:23

We have a Skye

I have also minded a Jasmine, Zoe, Catriona, Leoni, Libby, Lucia (yes the last three where all one family) Molly, Orchid, Bronwyn, Moya, Kirsty, Jessica, Ruby, Grace, Poppy, Lauren, and a Keva.

kalo12 · 11/12/2008 19:26

madeleine is better than mia, mia is soooo popular right now

ten10 · 11/12/2008 19:34

My favourite girls names at the mo are

Pippa
Caitlin
Cerys
Frances

(but this is my short list and may not suit anyone else)

traceybath · 11/12/2008 19:42

well my fave girls name is beatrice - am pregnant with no 3 (big surprise) and if its a girl which i think is unlikely as have 2 boys she'll definitely be a beatrice.

Phoenix · 11/12/2008 21:02

Freya
Amy
Mia
Tegan
Seren/a
Rhiannon/Rhian

The names me and dh agree on if we have a girl

superfrenchie1 · 11/12/2008 21:22

Madeleine Webb
Mia Webb (Mee-a) - no not too short, it's good
Alice Webb
Leila Webb (Lee-la)
Layla Webb (Lay-la... um, obviously )
Frances Webb
Sophie Webb

like them all!

jeanjeannie · 11/12/2008 21:33

Verity - which goes nicely with Webb - but then I'm biased as it's DD2s name!

Sofia is nice too.

christmasiana · 12/12/2008 09:52

Myla Webb?

chloemegjess · 13/12/2008 13:49

I am not too keen on Myla i'm afraid.

I love Layla (although on another thread everybody though it was a silly spelling? Which is why I didn't right it!).

Layla is my Favourate at the moment but DH doesn't really like it

There aren't any names we BOTH really like so far. It is really annoying and we had this trouble last time!
