I like this, its still not something that 'hits me' like my sons name did, but Im resigned to the fact that just isn't going to happen with my daughter

I like it - its simple, feminine and not that common.

notnowbernard · 30/10/2008 11:00

V popular round my way

Tortington · 30/10/2008 11:02

everyone is AVA or EVA

EVE?

EnchantedWithEdwardCullen · 30/10/2008 11:03

All nice names are popular though. Ive given up on trying to find something 'different'

everytime I do it gets shot down anyway!

Yes, I really like Eve

Not Evie, but Eve

Great name

IllegallyBrunette · 30/10/2008 11:05

Ava is lovely and I really don't get why people say certain names are too popular.

Surely all that matters is wether you like the name or not.

I have a very common name, and my 3 dc all have fairly common names, but I picked them because i like them so it doesn't bother me.

Phoenix · 30/10/2008 11:06

A friend of mine has just called her dd Ava Rose, I like it

smurfgirl · 30/10/2008 11:07

My friend just had a baby called Ava Lily - very sweet. I have not heard of any babies being called Ava until her.

Talia22 · 30/10/2008 11:08

It's getting quite popular I think.

RGPargy · 30/10/2008 11:12

Two of my friends have daughters who's names are Eva and Ava. I like them both!

marmaspook · 30/10/2008 11:15

Ava is a lovely name

docket · 30/10/2008 11:17

I love Ava. Beautiful name, who cares if it's popular?

stayinbed · 30/10/2008 11:21

popular names are so because they are just nice, no arguments

rachlb · 30/10/2008 11:22

My daughter is an Ava no middle name though she is nearly 2 i loved it for a long time and still do

branflake81 · 30/10/2008 11:24

Has become very popular so don't choose it thinking it will be an unusual name!

frazzledoldbag34 · 30/10/2008 19:21

I know of about 3 baby Ava's and my friend had a baby girl she has called Eve this morning.
BUT
I think they are both lovely names.
Have you considered Esme? It's a little more unusual but still lovely ? (IMO anyway)

elkiedee · 30/10/2008 19:25

I've only met one baby Ava though it does sound like it might be coming back into fashion.

But I think its simplicity means that it won't sound awful if it slips out of fashion again.

mumof2andabit · 30/10/2008 20:48

Love it love it dh wouldnt have it though

ScottishMummy · 30/10/2008 20:52

Nice and very popular

BellBookandCandle · 30/10/2008 20:55

I think it's lovely - so did Mylene Klass who called her daughter it

nickeldime · 31/10/2008 14:52

Hmm, Ava's too popular too fast, from 1000 to no. 4 in about 10 years, so it does sound a little too trendy for me.

girl name Ava

ilovemydog · 31/10/2008 14:55

well, I have an Ava (Juliet) and don't know anyone else called it.
