DH and I have been struggling with finding a boy's name we both like and finally agreed on Oscar, but I keep reading on threads here about how popular it is in certain areas.

Now I have no clue what names are commonplace around my way (SW London) so I am intruiged to know what you think are the most popular boys names for the area you live in? If you are happy to share where you live and the top 3 or so names, I'd be really interested to hear your thoughts....

I'm in Essex. Round here it's all about Joe, Jack, Jake, Josh, James, Johnny (all the J names), plus a lot of Nicks, Harrys, Bens, Toms, Charlies, Daniels, Alexes and Matthews.

Personally I love all those names, and I would never be put off a name that I adored and that felt "right" simply because plenty of others had chosen it too. I have grown up very happily with a common name.

SW London
Thomas and Oliver

I know Max, Sam, Felix perenially popular and loads around but prob 1 or 2 in each year rather then the hundreds of Thomas IYSWIM
From the demographics there will be Oscars too.
Not much use posting the names in school there seem to be a lot of what I call 'made up names' eg Tyden (and I did make that one up!) but there is a Daniel and a Joshua too
