Like it a lot! it;s difficult to find boys names that are unusual without being wacky, and Austin is a great one!

branflake81 · 09/10/2008 15:01

actually I think it's a bit chavvy. Sorry if we're not allowed to use that word any more. But I do.

minorbirdOnElmstreet · 09/10/2008 15:03

I like it. I know a young guy called Austin. He's very dashing actually!

edam · 09/10/2008 15:06

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo! It's an old man's name and the only person I've known with it was a rather horrid old man.

frazzledoldbag34 · 09/10/2008 15:08

I quite like it.
I wouldn't say 'chavvy' at all!

lilibet · 09/10/2008 15:08

I know a really lovely bloke called Austin

motherinferior · 09/10/2008 15:08

I know a nice eight year old called Austin.

Tobermory · 09/10/2008 15:10

I know a very cute 6 month old Austin.

Unusual but not at all 'chavvy'

Yeni · 09/10/2008 17:00

Healey, Allegro, Powers.

tortoiseshellWasMusicaYearsAgo · 09/10/2008 17:01

It's nice but makes me think of SCD atm (Austin Healey) and Austin POwers.

southeastastra · 09/10/2008 17:01

DorrisMcWhirter · 09/10/2008 17:05

Yeah baby, yeah
Sorry - no, Austin Powers connection is too strong for me!

GreatGooglyMoogly · 09/10/2008 17:07

I like it.

Liffey · 09/10/2008 18:37

Allegro or Powers

OrmIrian · 09/10/2008 18:40

Not keen.

devonsmummy · 09/10/2008 21:29

Like it - currently top of our boys list. worried that X Factor's Austin will see it rise in popularity though

AbbeyA · 09/10/2008 21:36

I don't like it.

LaDiDaDi · 09/10/2008 21:38

Ok, I think it really depends on the surname but you seem confident that yours goes. Ours would sound ridiculous and it's hard to set that aside.
