Lovely, but prefer the spelling Ophelia

TillyScoutsmum · 29/09/2008 11:28

Spelt like that - no

Ophelia quite pretty though

NotQuiteCockney · 29/09/2008 11:29
  1. it's spelt 'Ophelia'.
  1. it's after a character in Shakespeare who goes mad and drowns herself. Which isn't necessarily the best association.
TheProvincialLady · 29/09/2008 11:29

Yes but why would you spell it that awful way?

Dropdeadfred · 29/09/2008 11:29

never mispell a name...Ophelia is pretty ofelia is awful

McDreamy · 29/09/2008 11:29

FabioVicePeeperPlopper · 29/09/2008 11:29

Oh, wait, I googled, Ofelia is apparently the Spanish or Italian way to spell this name.

Still, if you live in the UK, she will have to spell her name, over and over.

charl25 · 29/09/2008 11:30

i like it also agree spelt the pretty way tho..

Imnotok · 29/09/2008 11:30

You can spell it with an F .

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 29/09/2008 11:34

Oh, those Italians, they're dreadful, aren't they.

there is an ofelia in love and rockets she is latin american.

frazzledoldbag34 · 29/09/2008 11:38

Yes but we're not in Italy are we? (or maybe YOU are I don't know in which case do as you please!). But if you're in UK and spell it Ofelia people will just think you can't spell. Or you're trying to be clever and trendy with it. Perhaps also a touch - ahem [coughs in embarrassed fashion] common?
[covers head and runs for cover]

Tortington · 29/09/2008 11:41

yeah common as shit

Imnotok · 29/09/2008 11:45

Ok can't risk been thought of as common so if I did use it spell it with a p ?

OP posts:
Oblomov · 29/09/2008 11:46

No. too much like ofal. Which = awful.
Awful ofal ofelia.NICE.

Like ophelia. That is a proper name.

frazzledoldbag34 · 29/09/2008 11:46

Absolutely. Got it.
Although I'd still have reservations about the teasing - Ophelia boobs, ophelia bum etc.
But if you can live with that.......ok!
