Claudia or India?

Right it is me again, I know, I know, I know I liked Cecily but I have gone off it, don't know why. Claudia and India are both names I have loved for a while but never thought I would use them for one of my own children but I am getting desperate...

So, which one is the nicer?

DD1 is Grace, DD2 is Maya

i like India

Do you think you need to be dark skinned to suit India though? I have this mental image of a dark skinned/haired child being called India although India Hicks is very fair.

Agree that Claudia goes better with Grace and Maya.

lapin - never even noticed the syllable addition for each child I have! Believe you me, this fanjo will be shut for at least 10 years, nothing is coming near it, no matter how much money he offers!

I think I prefer Claudia too, bit more "traditional" than India.

Was thinking of Claudia Eve? We definitely need a one syllable middle name to go with it.

I like Claudia, but I do not like the meaning, otherwise it was on our list.

artichokes · 20/09/2008 19:54

I like Claudia
I agree with the previous poster who suggested India was slightly pretentious and naff.

traceybath · 20/09/2008 19:59

Claudia is gorgeous - i even like it shortened to claudes.

osborne · 20/09/2008 20:00

love claudia, timeless and beautiful, unusual but not weird

constancereader · 20/09/2008 20:07

India is a very traditional name, very popular in the eighteenth century. I like Claudia too.

We rejected India because it has a hippy/pretentious feel to it today. It is a beautiful name though.

katebee · 20/09/2008 20:10

Claudia is a lovely name!

ThinWhiteDuchess · 20/09/2008 20:29

Both are lovely. Personally prefer India.

LaDiDaDi · 20/09/2008 20:30

Claudia is lovely and works very well with Eve as a middle name and your other dds.

Claudia. No contest.

(I also love Grace and Maya )

lemonlady · 20/09/2008 21:01

India, for me
my dd name and she has dark hair/eyes and is beautiful. She suits her name, and not atall hippy or pretencious.
Claudia lovely to.
