I'm not pregnant and haven't even started ttc yet but dh and I were just kicking round ideas.

I like the sound of Juno (I know it's also a movie about a pregnant teen)

It sounds nice with our surname... But, you think it's a bit too out there?

I like it (not that I would use it myslf though) but everyone will ask if you named her after the girl in that film.

NotAnOtter · 01/09/2008 22:55

like it a lot

Thomcat · 01/09/2008 22:55

Hmmm, actually now I've said it, it's nice. Like a short version of Junior, but better. It works.

Washersaurus · 01/09/2008 23:00

Wouldn't a Juno have to be born in June though - wasn't she the looking forward/looking back at the year goddess or something like that?

Dalrymps · 01/09/2008 23:07

Well, I think she's the goddess of marriage and fidelity and stuff like that. June is the month of marriage because of that but I don't think she'd necessarily have to be born in June...

I'm a bit old fashioned like that - y'know, April should be born in April and Holly around Christmas

I think Juno is a nice enough name - nothing seems to be 'too out there' judging by some of the name threads on here . Why not just go with good old fashioned 'June' though?

wheresthehamster · 01/09/2008 23:24

I thought it was a boy's name for some reason.

Your surname's not Watt is it?

Weegiemum · 02/09/2008 01:55

The looking backwards an forwards one is Janus - hence January.

Juno I could be persuaded to like.
Janus would, I think, be just a leeetle step too far!

Dalrymps · 02/09/2008 09:09

I say June and I just think of an old lady, nice but not for me

No, my surname isn't Watt , it's Dalrymple (Hence my username) Pronounced Dal-rimple. We already have a Dylan McGregor.

Juno and Dylan sounds ok I think?

Janni · 02/09/2008 09:13

I would assume it was a boy if I heard it - it's kind of OK for a boy, but to me it doesn't sound right for a girl, sorry
I think it's because it sounds like something boys would call each other, you know, when they take a name and add 'O' to it as a nickname.

There's a Mary Wesley book with a Juno as the main character, can#t remember what it is called... nice person in the book though!

Fimbo · 02/09/2008 09:18

Isn't Juno the name of the dog in Me Too?

Janni · 02/09/2008 09:22

Or Junie, Juna (just made that one up!), Judy, Julie/Julia, Judith, Jennie. Sorry, I'm interfering now. I'll get my coat

Juno Dalrymple? Hmm.... I don't think the two names go well together at all.

Georgina Dalrymple
Julia Dalrymple

bantam73 · 02/09/2008 09:32

I think Juno is also a name for the 80's film 'Bettle Juice'. Where it's a name of a case worker from the otherside, maybe no one's seen the film but it is good

Dalrymps · 02/09/2008 09:35

I think they go together well but you're entitled to your oppinion

Don't think I like any other jun esq names, too comonly used.

I can see that it might sound like a boys nickname, that doesn't reaaly bother me as such.

Not really struck on Georgina or Julia, not unusual enough for me.

Love it!!!

Dalrymps · 02/09/2008 09:53

Ha ha, yeah it does sound like D'you know! That's actually quite funny . D'you know Juno?

Thanks Barbie
