I'm not pregnant and haven't even started ttc yet but dh and I were just kicking round ideas.

I like the sound of Juno (I know it's also a movie about a pregnant teen)

It sounds nice with our surname... But, you think it's a bit too out there?

Thanks Anglepoise

Hero is cool too.

Didn't think many people would like it but looks like I was wrong!

mmmm, not sure. The only thing that comes to mind is that film (haven't even seen it yet!). People will think you've chosen it because of the film.

OTOH, it does seem quite a strong name.

bah, I'm in two minds .

Pinkglow · 02/09/2008 11:17

I really like it - but ppl will automatically think of the film but thats not a huge deal

pofaced · 02/09/2008 11:23

I know a Juno (girl)... named after Juno & the Paycock (Sean O'Casey play)

LazyLinePainterJane · 02/09/2008 11:27

I have bagsied it for a middle name so keep your mitts off :P

Dalrymps · 02/09/2008 11:32

I don't mind if people think I chose it because of the film, I suppose in a way it is connected cause I hadn't heard of the name before the film. It's not like I'm a huuuge fan of the film though and usuing it in that way iyswim. The girl in the film is nice though so it's not like i'm using a horrible film/persons name.

Lazy - i'll race you for it

LOL Dalrymps well I am 30 weeks with a girl so I think I might win

Personally I think that the film connection doesn't matter as it won't be relevant in 10 years or so, it's a good film but I can't imagine people will still be talking about it that far into the future. Also, I choose to think if the name as more "inspired by" rather than named after the character or the film because I wasn't aware of the name before, but now I am I love it, but it's not because of the film.

Dalrymps · 02/09/2008 13:07

LOL fair enough Lazy, you win!

Still might use it and just not tell you, ner ner

LazyLinePainterJane · 02/09/2008 14:26

Well, you are considering it for a first name....I think it's lovely and you should go for it!

Dalrymps · 02/09/2008 14:59

Thanks Lazy, maybe I will.

Although, this family is prone to boys so maybe i'll never get my chance to use it anyway? Hope so!

Congratulations by the way, not long to go for you, exciting!

I like it, and I don't think general awareness of that film will be around for long. It's fairly culty as it is, 6 months after it was on general release.

MadBadandDangerousToKnow · 02/09/2008 18:40

Love it! Goddess names are always good and (I hope) empowering.

monkeycat · 02/09/2008 19:48

Juno is on our list if I have another girl - due tomorrow , so hopefully soon!

I don't think the film connection is a big deal.

I also really like Hero ( in fact , probably my fave girl name ) but am concerned that might be a bit tricky to live with .

As you may guess we're quite keen on goddess/nymph names here . DD1 has Callisto as her middle name and we're thinking of Io as a middle name for this one .

Ronaldinhio · 02/09/2008 19:56

Love love love love love Juno

Slickbird · 02/09/2008 20:14

I know a friend's friend called her daughter Juno and I like it.

LazyLinePainterJane · 02/09/2008 20:23

Oh wow, good luck monkeycat.

ThinWhiteDuchess · 02/09/2008 21:05

I like it. I know a Juno, he is Anglo-Japenese
