So what would your younger DC be named if you had allowed your older DC their choice?

DC2 is going to be named 'Abracadabra' according to DD (2.6)

I think dd's suggested options (she was 2.5 at the time) were Flipflop and Herbert.

Flossish · 27/08/2008 21:34

DS wanted to call DD 'boy baby.' Obviously the only reason we declined was because of a slight issue of confusion over sex it may cause. Other than that it was a lovely choice of name

LunarSea · 27/08/2008 22:27

ds1 (5 at the time) suggested Thomas, Edward, Henry or Toby for ds2. Spot the theme? Actually ds2 did end up being one of those!

dizzydixies · 27/08/2008 22:29

pinky or bluey or dora the explorer - not just dora, the full dora explorer title

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 27/08/2008 22:31

A friend was named after his older sibs - he is Luke as is Skywalker. Could have been worse..

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 27/08/2008 22:31

My friend asked her just 3 year old son to name the new kitten; he chose "Londontown"!

cece · 27/08/2008 22:42

Booby or Umbrella

dizzydixies · 27/08/2008 22:43

oohh cece I like Umbrella!

Linnet · 27/08/2008 22:44

dd2 would have been called Star if dd1 had got her way. I actually liked that name and if I'd been brave enough would have pushed for calling her Star.

cece · 27/08/2008 22:44

Booby would have been nice and alliterative with our surname!

TooTicky · 27/08/2008 22:46

Ds1 wanted to name dd2 Daffodil.

Maenad · 27/08/2008 22:58

Apparently DC2 will be Candyfloss if a girl, and Sleep if a boy.

Based on my experiences with DD, I feel Sleep might be taking irony a bit too far.

EachPeachPearMum · 28/08/2008 09:51

pmsl at 'Risotto Manchester'

I quite like Daffodil actually Toot

DS1 wanted to call DS2 Bunty, even when he turned out to be a boy. In fact, while I was in hospital (for a week) after the birth of DS2, DS1 told everyone that he had a new baby sister called Bunty.

Fimbo · 28/08/2008 10:03

Girl - Fizz or Bella

Boy - Milo or Jake

LuLuBai · 28/08/2008 10:32

That's not too bad Fimbo. (or am I missing something - are they in a tv programme?)

I just asked DD (nearly 17 months so didn't think she would come up with anything constructive).

She said firmly: "Billy". Well yes, but that is the cat's name. (and my first boyfriend )

hannahsaunt · 28/08/2008 10:42

Ds2 wanted to call ds3 Percy. When we told him that actually his name would be xx, he said, "That's lovely. You all can call him xx and I'll call him Percy"...fortunately it only lasted a couple of days.

Fimbo · 28/08/2008 10:50

LuluBai - it's the Tweenies! .

She was 5 when ds was born and grew up with the Tweenies (they came out when she was about 2)

LuLuBai · 28/08/2008 10:59

Aaaah - but really any, except perhaps Fizz, would be fine wouldn't they?

I would have liked Milo if we had a boy but DH vetoed it (maybe he is more au fait with The Tweenies than me?)

TinkerBellesMum · 28/08/2008 13:01

We've already got Jake (DSS) and Bella (Tink is Isobel) I think this is a girl so we could go all the way and have Fizz!

I've not noticed the names before, although Tink does get excited about Jake (she loves her brothers).
