Really like the shortening 'Bella' but dislike above names!

Can any thing else be shortened to Bella?

Quick Hijack:- there is a dear little pink cardigan ready for whatever you choose to call her, if you can take the embargo off your CAT messages, or send me an email address so I can contact you.

What about......... drum roll ( I like one myself)

Gabriella.

I think you could pull Bella from that without too many explanations.

DutchOma · 15/08/2008 14:11

Just going to mail you now.

Boobz · 15/08/2008 18:02

Belinda is a fab name. My friend is called this and I don't think I have ever met another one. We call her B, Bell, Bella, Bind and Binders for short, so is very versatile.

Love it.

DisenchantedPlusBump · 15/08/2008 18:42

DH doesn't want Bella.

Because of SIL.

Back to square one.

CuckooChocolateOrange · 15/08/2008 18:49

Is your SIL called somethingBella? Why can't you use Amelia btw?

Gabriella is a 'nmsaa' is it??!

DisenchantedPlusBump · 15/08/2008 18:50

whats a nmsaa??

No, but her exhubby called her bella.

Amelia, I love, but its too popular.

I want something different.

It's how polite Americans on American boards say "eurgh yuck". It stands for Not my style at all.

Hmmm. Like Amelia but different. What do you think of Camellia like the flower? I knew a Spanish girl from Barcelona called Camellia. Always remembered it since then as being a lovely name.

CuckooChocolateOrange · 15/08/2008 18:53

What about Cordelia with Della for short?

CuckooChocolateOrange · 15/08/2008 18:54

But I'm guessing your husband wouldn't go for that either.

DisenchantedPlusBump · 15/08/2008 18:57

Sounds like Camilla, too horsey

Cordelia, hmmm

not the one, but something like that.

Sorry, I'm getting fed up. I never had this with my boys!

Bellina

lilacbloom · 15/08/2008 23:37

JEZEBEL
Actually that is what d neice called her Aunt for years, the poor lady was a staunch Catholic called .. Isobel.

PavlovtheCat · 15/08/2008 23:39

Sorry. I have one of the above names, so cant really comment, BUT, she is called Bella, most of the time!

Why not Bella on its own, if that is the name you like? Does it have to be a different name to the one you like?

We chose the full name as I like it but DH wanted Bella, so we called her the full name but it gets shortened.

MrsMattie · 16/08/2008 09:42

Bella on it's own is lovely and much nicer than Arabella and most of the other alternatives.
