The Eddie Stobart Method (for girls)

I have struck upon a rich seam indeed.

Struggling to find the perfect name for your daughter?

Torn between traditional or unusual?

Tearing your hair out on the mn baby name threads?

Use the Eddie Sobart Method.

Get in car.

Drive on motorway.

Come alongside Eddie Stobart lorry.

Read name of lorry on front (R) hand corner (just in front of drivers door, near the bumper).

There you go.

You cannot back out when you have seen your name. The method is all about chance and living on the edge.

For those of you who do not drive, or are not living in the UK, or do not like motorways, or trucks, I have come up with the variant MN Eddie Stobart Method.

Helpful mners will post on this here thread the name they have just spotted on their most recent journey.

To get the ball rolling I give you

Shona

Or maybe they shortened it and called him 'Chip'?
This is going to bug me.

Buck?

Lincoln?

Cumberland?

The Bristol Sausage Shop sells a sausage called "Lucifer"?

Kangeroo and Tomato would be a bit of a mouthful for a small child to say. Perhaps not.
I think Lucifer could be a possibility though?
Am def going to bed now.
Too silly for words.

Going off on a bit of a tangent here (googling for sausage names) but take a look at the British Sausage Week merchandise -doesn't it look a little...erm...dodgy? Especially the tea towel and tie (scroll down)

I too am worried about sausage child. He must be named after a brand, rather than a type. My googling reveals the following possibilities:

Gilbert
Rankin
Porkinson (maybe not...)
Musk
Herta
Meica

and I discounted the ridiculous ones...

What a great thread. I have to confess to playing the 'Prestons of Potto' game with DH when we're on the motorway. But he has just cheated and sent me a text saying he wins because he saw one on the way to Basingstoke. I was at home so not fair at all!!!!!!

And to give you a final clue, we had all assumed that the couple, being American, had named thr child after a US president.

We were all when she revealed the true inspiration.

Well I think it's better than Lucifer. Using sausages for inspiration is well...inspired.

she's pregnant again. Will be very intrigued to see what she goes for this time round.

Maybe Merguez for a girl?

Lulu, you need to tell her about the ESM that is (very nearly almost) sweeping the country. If she uses it you must come back and report.

Oh LOL at that (I love sausage chat!)
Wonder if they'll tell him when he's older that he's called after their favorite sausage???? How hilarious.

Mind you, my SIL is named after a cow that used to live in the field next door. Not as bad a sausuage I admit but it used to make her cry when she was a child when her siblings teased her about her name.......

THANKS FOR LETTING US KNOW LLB. I THINK SHE SHOULD DEFINITELY GO FOR TOULOUSE FOR THE NEXT ONE IF SHE DOESN'T SEE AN ES LORRY IN TIME. XXXXXXX AND TOULOUSE ACTUALLY SOUNDS KIND OF COOL IF YOU DON'T THINK ABOUT THE SAUSAGE CONNECTION, I THINK.{SORRY RE CAPS- CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO RETYPE}
