My children are at a school in the States now and I was a little disappointed that all their classmates seem to have completely normal names. I guess the Korean names might be strange, but I don't speak enough Korean to know... Lots of Michaels, Andrews and Michelles.

MadBadandDangeroustoKnow · 19/08/2008 23:17

A boy called Bionick

Ozziegirly · 20/08/2008 07:54

My hairdresser has had Rocco Blaze

A friend has Zsa Zsa, which I love but am far too boring and normal to name my child.

jammydodger · 20/08/2008 09:16

I worked with a little girl named Teeny once, so called as she was the youngest child of five, apparently. ????

swalesie · 20/08/2008 09:51

After reading this thresd I think that anyone on MN who is considering a slightly unusual name that they are worried may be poncy, really needn't worry, because it is not going to be anywhere near as awful as some of these

Know an Amberley and a Paisley, same family

mummydoc · 20/08/2008 10:33

Particularly loving 'Electron' and 'Adonis' so far

jellyrolly · 20/08/2008 11:09

Dominant (boy)

Needless to say, small and thin with little round glasses, bless.

mylittlepudding · 20/08/2008 11:28

Fonsaca - was at uni with. It grew on me, and I now think it is unusual but not weird.

I delivered a baby girl called Gypsy recently. Also in my professional career, Sunbeam and Moonshine, girl twins, Yian ( is ?vietnamese but to a white teenage single mother), Xian (again white, parents claimed to have "made it up"), Apple, and Cuthbert (made me think of the Beano!). Probably more but you tender to blank it out forget after a while.

strawberrycornetto · 20/08/2008 11:39

These names are all fantastic! My friend is about to have a boy called Fox which I thought was a bit pretentious, but now I think maybe its ok!

A friend of mine has a test for names. If you say:

Would you like to come out and play name;
I love you name; and
We would like to offer you the job name

it is a good name that fits all circumstances. I told my friend I couldn't imagine a prime minister called Fox but she didn't care!!

Peachy · 20/08/2008 11:44
