witchandchips · 01/08/2008 15:37

for a boy or for a girl?

ilovemydog · 01/08/2008 15:41

sasha was on our short list. Lovely name.

But word of warning - if Barack Obama becomes president, he has a daughter named Sasha, which means it might get more popular, if that makes a difference to you?

belgo · 01/08/2008 15:42

It's ok, but I think in some countries it's a boy's name.

nervousal · 01/08/2008 15:42

I like it - dd is Kasia - pronounced the same but with a K

Dozymare · 01/08/2008 16:21

for a girl.....I am struggling to think of a middle name to go with it though.......

belgo · 01/08/2008 16:35

Sasha Marie is lovely.

nickeldime · 01/08/2008 16:47

Sasha is more of a boy's name as seen here: www.babynamespedia.com/meaning/Sasha/f
It's a nice name nevertheless!

mamalovesmojitos · 01/08/2008 16:56

pucca · 01/08/2008 17:04

Bee-yoo-ti-ful, kiss emoticon

CuckooClockWorkShy · 01/08/2008 17:28

I like it. Maybe it could be a nn for Saskia, which is very elegant but a little harsher than Sasha which is very soft and pretty. Would avoid any long term bratz problems too.

CuckooClockWorkShy · 01/08/2008 17:29

I'm not a bugger, and I'm not in Russia.

belgo · 01/08/2008 17:30

I wouldn't worry about it being a Russian boy's name. i think it's common and well known enough in Britain for it to be a girl's name. It's far too pretty to keep it exclusively for boys.

FrannyandZooey · 01/08/2008 17:31

ds1's middle name is Sacha
we love it

VictorianSqualor · 01/08/2008 18:03

I thin Sasha Suzanne is great.
We are having a Susannah if we have another girl.

I have a friend called Sasha - we call her Splash.

Oblomov · 01/08/2008 19:12

Didn't know you were thinking of any other name.
Boy, it is Russian derivative of Alexander.
Girls name also Russian, not sure of meaning.
If mixed with nice middle name, I think it is lovely ofr a girl.
