i like rosalind (or rosamund), and beth. My middle name is jane and it's not v exciting, imo.

LaDiDaDi · 10/07/2008 00:11

Claudia with any of the middle names apart from Beth (just doesn't go).

Bowddee · 10/07/2008 00:19

Hmm, careful...
I think Claudia Rose is the name of some film star's kid, but I'm not sure. I think Mary Beth was either Cagney or Lacey. And wasn't the ship raised on Blue Peter called the Mary Rose. And while I'm on a roll, is the girl in Clifford the Big Red Dog called Mary Elizabeth?
I think Devon Elizabeth is a lovely name, and Sophia Rose. But then Sophia Elizabeth is lovely too.
My favourite would be hmmmm.. Devon Elizabeth.
And I bet that's no help whatsoever!

No, all your suggestions help Bowddee

I'm very much a name traditionalist, so like all of them apart from Devon which, in any event, I thought was a boy's name (to the extent that it's a name at all). My favourite would be Rosalind.

thumbwitch · 10/07/2008 00:27

I remember this gem from when I was a child:
Mary Rose sat on a pin.... Mary Rose.
That of course could go for any name where Rose is the second name, including Sunday (see NK thread), but seems to work best with Mary Rose.

Jane is Plain; how about having Mary as the middle name? (only saying that cos my middle name is Mary)

Having said all that, contrarily I like Devon Rose best of all those combinations!

I think the girl in Clifford is Emily Elizabeth.

I love Devon (for either boy or girl) but personally not keen on the others, sorry.

Bowddee · 10/07/2008 00:32

Emily Elizabeth. I was fairly close.

AbbeyA · 10/07/2008 07:48

I can't stand Devon as a name (I suppose it is lucky that she wasn't conceived in Skegness!!).
I like all the rest.

CantSleepWontSleep · 10/07/2008 08:01

Sophia Rose or Claudia Rose.
Devon is a boy's name.

Elkat · 10/07/2008 09:16

Sophia or Claudia. Lovely names.

TwoFir · 10/07/2008 10:17

I like Elizabeth Devon
and Rosalind Devon

TwoFir · 10/07/2008 10:18

also, I know a female Devon
aged about 6

great middle name but I would go for a more traditional first name.

theowlwhowasafraidofthedark · 10/07/2008 10:21

I love Rosalind, our baby would be Rosalind but it doesn't sound good with our surname

girlandboy · 10/07/2008 10:23

I thought Devon was a boys name? Isn't there a male cricketer called Devon Malcolm?

schneebly · 10/07/2008 10:23

Sophia Rose
or
Claudia Rose

devonsmummy · 10/07/2008 11:40

Devon is a unisex name.

I suppose I'm biased but my favourite combo is Devon Rose.

my Devon is a boy but love it for either sex

snice · 10/07/2008 11:44

"Why did you call me Devon mummy?"

"Because that's where your father and I had a shag"

devonsmummy · 10/07/2008 11:51

and by the way my Devon was not conceived there.

artichokes · 10/07/2008 11:56

Sophia Rose is lovely
or
Claudia Beth

LadyThompson · 10/07/2008 11:57

Mary is lovely. Claudia is nice too. What about mixing some of your first names? Think I prefer them. ie

Claudia Mary
Mary Claudia
Mary Devon (think Devon better middle name tbh)
Devon Rosalind

LadyThompson · 10/07/2008 11:59

Although actually, Devon Rose is nice. A la Sunday Rose, though!

hayley2u · 10/07/2008 12:05

sophia beth is the nicest ,not sure on othere

elle23 · 10/07/2008 15:21

Sophia & Claudia lovely names...not keen on others. ALL middle names are good.
