I can't believe I am doing this, have always said I wouldn't.

Simple yes or no please, easier for me to work out the verdict!

Yes: I have only DDs but would have had a Ned (& a Joe) if they were boys. It's lovely... and I had a great uncle Ned who was the sweetest man ever

CristinaTheAstonishing · 07/07/2008 18:32

No.

gegs73 · 07/07/2008 18:32

Yes ! I like it.

mollysawally · 07/07/2008 18:33

No (sounds like he would be a farmer on emmerdale)

WarmFuzzy · 07/07/2008 18:34

WarmFuzzy · 07/07/2008 18:34

TillyScoutsmum · 07/07/2008 18:35

if you pick Edward you can have to option of Ed,Eddie or Ned !

MaryAnnSingleton · 07/07/2008 18:38

oh snap charlotte

TheFallenMadonna · 07/07/2008 18:39

I like it, but would probably go for it as a diminutive of Edward, which I also like. But of you only want him to be called Ned, then go for it.

greenelizabeth · 07/07/2008 18:42

NO. Obviously. How could anybody do this.

I like Edward, and Ted, and Red though. Ned! ffs!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 07/07/2008 18:42

Ed/Eddie/Edward... I do like them all, but they just don't go with our surname. Ed isn't too bad with the surname, but the rest just turns into a mouthful.

So is that 13 for yes, and 3 for no so far? I am trying to keep up!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 07/07/2008 18:43

Oh no, 4 for no!

You don't like it Green? LOL

i think ned is sweet but i wouldnt because in some parts of the country it is the word for chav.

wessexgirl · 07/07/2008 18:44

Not if you're in Scotland, or ever plan to be .

Romy7 · 07/07/2008 18:46

you aren't scottish, are you... it's like calling your son 'chav', 'neet', or 'thick jobless runt that wears a baseball cap backwards and drinks cider on a street corner hurling abuse at passers by'.

if you never intend going north then go right ahead - apart from the connotations it's quite sweet.

Romy7 · 07/07/2008 18:47

ooo - we all read this at the same point! x posts everywhere!

JackieNo · 07/07/2008 18:48

Flanders, sorry.

LaylaandSethsmum · 07/07/2008 18:49

Yes love love it

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 07/07/2008 18:53

No, not Scottish, and never intend on being....

Is it that bad?

Not too bothered about the Simpsons link, for some strange reason.
