@User6761 , you mean you'd say it as 3 syllables, like Lydia (not Sophia).

They’re all lovely names!

I have a Naomi so am biased, but I will say I wasn’t quite prepared for the variety of pronunciations! Nye-OH-mi seems to be the most common pronunciation in the North, Nay-OH-mi in the South, and NAY-uh-mi occasionally (I think this is either Posh or Biblical?).

Also, I know this is a temporary phase, but small kids cannot get their tongues around it. From her little friends she gets Omi, Yomi, Annayomi, Nomi, Nom-Nom, Ninny… it’s cute! But fair warning, it’s not a name to go for if you’re fussy about pronounciation/not up for 4000 nicknames.
