Zara, Naomi, Georgia or Margot?

I love Georgia.

Margot is a bit overdone for my tastes
Zara is nice but may blend in with all the Clara's and Lara's (both popular with under 5s in my area)

I want to like Naomi but ive never met a Naomi i like

I like three of the names but dislike Margot. It reminds me of maggots and sounds very harsh.

Margot is my favourite, then Georgia

Unusually for me I like all 4 options. I think it would depend on which sounded best with your surname.

Naomi

I get in a pickle with pronouncing Naomi. I’ve known a few, not all pronounced the same. Plus a Naimi, just to confuse things.

Not keen on Margot. It’s having a moment so will date your DD, if that matters to you.

I like Georgia, which is odd as I don’t like George! Zara is nice too, unusual without being wacky.

I agree pp the Naomi's ive met have been hard work. Id go for margot. All the others are dated to me. Zara is nice was really edgy in tbe 80's like Jade. Dislike Georgia alot, why name your child after a place in tbe usa?

How about Margaux if you don’t appreciate the maggot comments? I like it. No strong opinion on Zara or Georgia but Naomi I absolutely cannot stand. I too haven’t met one I liked and I knew one with a Liverpudlian mum. The way she pronounced it completely set my teeth on edge.

I was scanning the thread titles and read Margot as Maggot so I can't choose that one haha

I think they are all lovely - Zara favourite, then Georgia, Margot, Naomi.

The only one i like is Georgia. My Ss just called her baby Margot. Never liked Zara and it depends on the pronunciation of Naomi. I have always said NAY-oh-mee, but just have noticed recently has become very americanised as Nay-OH-mee.

If it were me I'd scratch Margot from the list as it's shot up in popularity in the last 2 or 3 years and it feels like they're everywhere.

I think I like Zara best out of the remaining three,

Georgia! I have a Georgia. She’s Georgie or Jojo (that came from baby sister’s mispronunciation).

Zara and Naomi are nice.
Hate Margot.

Naomi (too many different ways people say it, only like NA-o-mi or NAY-uh-mi), Margot (Maggot)

3 Margot (sorry, but it's pretty boring by now)

4 Georgia - one of the feminised versions of a male name that somehow doesn't sound fully formed or remotely feminine to me.

Feminised names like Charlotte, Francesca, Alexandra seem to have a bit more about them.

Weirdly I do know French people who have used this spelling.

As it is like the wine appellation, I find it grotesquely chavvy (you can say chavvy, MN, when it isn't English or possibly American chavs), but they seem to think its Ok. To me it's a bit like a son called Bollinger.
