Opinions welcome thank you

OP posts:

Zara or Naomi. Georgia is dated and Margot is overly trendy at the moment.

Giraffehaver · 24/08/2026 22:02

Like Zara and Georgia but not keen on the other 2

Margot is lovely!

Yes, makes me think of the Superman actress from the old films, liked her and love the name. The other names on your list were all quite popular in the noughties, OP.

ChocolateCinderToffee · 24/08/2026 22:09

Margot
Georgia
Naomi
Zara

In that order. I like the top three almost equally, though.

User6761 · 24/08/2026 22:16

I've known 2 Naomis - both pronounced Nye-omi (rather than the Neigh-omi pronunciation I've seen describes on MN previously). It's ok but my least favourite of the 4.

Like a pp, I quite like Georgia (and Georgina) which surprises me as I dislike George and usually prefer 1-2 syllable names.

Zara and Margot are my favourites of your list. Strong and easily pronounced, I like them both.

5682Jhd · 24/08/2026 22:18

Naomi is my favourite followed by Georgia.

Thesummer · 24/08/2026 22:19

My order:

Naomi but only if pronounced Ny - OH - me
Margot
Zara and Georgia equal. They're both nice enough but a bit meh. Also I feel like there were a lot of Georgias (and Chloes) on Love Island and Towie around 5-10 years ago so those names make me think of z list influencer types.

deepseaargyllfish · 24/08/2026 22:21

Naomi

Margot is painfully fashionable atm.

Georgina, perhaps, but not Georgia.

Zara? No. Sarah perhaps.

Another vote for Naomi.

Margot out of those four, beautiful name
Don’t hate any of the others just like Margot best

WhereAreWeNow · 24/08/2026 22:30

I like them all but like Georgia the best.

SeraphinaRainbird · 24/08/2026 22:38

I love Naomi, but hate it when people stress the ‘O’. As in Nay -oh-me. I say it more like Naya-me.

paddleboardingmum · 24/08/2026 22:44

Naomi or Georgia.

Zara is nice but like the clothes shop. Margot overused right now.

MeetMeOnTheCorner · 24/08/2026 22:47

@SeraphinaRainbird No one else says it like that! It’s Nay-o-me. Said quickly.

mybeautifulemeraldparure · 24/08/2026 22:50

I don't like Margot. Never have and now it's like Teddy and Noah - over used.
The only one I like is Georgia.

user1492757084 · 25/08/2026 00:48

In order ..

Zara
Georgia
Naomi
Margot

Joliloily · 25/08/2026 00:51

Georgia ❤️

TheQueenOfEverything · 25/08/2026 00:56

Naomi

dolwop · 25/08/2026 01:15

Naomi and Georgia are lovely, you don’t seem to hear them much anymore.

I like Zara but the fact it’s a clothes shop puts me off a bit.

Margot is very popular and trendy at the moment

Petuniapetals · 24/08/2026 19:04

How about Margaux if you don’t appreciate the maggot comments? I like it. No strong opinion on Zara or Georgia but Naomi I absolutely cannot stand. I too haven’t met one I liked and I knew one with a Liverpudlian mum. The way she pronounced it completely set my teeth on edge.

Still an ugly sounding, frumpy name!

If everyone said it like that then I think it is beautiful. That’s how I say it, but I have heard people stress the O and I hate it!

GoodGraciousGeorgie · 25/08/2026 10:41

It's nice to come across other people who like Georgia but don't like George. I always thought I was a bit weird.

I have a friend in his 40's called George and I know an 11 year old George, and cringe a bit every time I have to say their name, I really don't like it, and thought everyone else loved it!

I love all female versions of the name though! Still think I must be a bit weird...

Bunnyofhope · 25/08/2026 10:56

How do you pronounce Naomi?
Nay or Nigh? I couldn't use it for that reason as the different ways of saying it would be too annoying.

BleedinglyObvious · 25/08/2026 11:17

Zara is too 'shop name' for me too.

@Bunnyofhope , I don't understand the 'Nigh' pronunciation. It makes no sense. Na-o-mi, not Ni-o-mi or Nai-o-mi.

Then you get the people saying it with an emphasis on the O.

Too complicated.

@User6761 , I like Georgina and Georgia but George seems a bit stodgy to me.

@Petuniapetals ,Margaux is dreadful.

Edited

I love the name George but yes definitely stodgy for some reason 😅

plasticplate · 25/08/2026 11:40

Naomi then Georgia. Zara is ok. I'm not keen on Margot and it is popular at the moment.
