Rory or Henry for a baby name if Rory feels awkward to say

Rory or Henry? Anyone feel they say Rory funny?

I can’t stand Rory so vote Henry but unless it was out of Rory and Timothy I’d always vote against Rory

I quite like Rory! I don’t like Henry at all.

I think it depends on how you say it. Have you tried calling him Rory for a few days then switching to Henry for a few days? See what feels more natural.

I don't understand Rory being difficult to say ? I find it preferable to Henry which I am not keen on.

I like the name Rory,although I’m very biased as have a wee Rory in the family.
Rory is quite popular around here.There are at least 3 little boys in the playgroup called Rory.
I also think Henry is good name.
Not quite sure how you think Rory is awkward to say.

Many, especially young children, can't say R properly. Wowy or Vovy would put me off.

A lot of children might pronounce it "Wore-ry" when they are little.
But I expect most will out grow that.

Most will but there are plenty of adults who can't say R, including TV presenters.

OP if YOU can't pronounce Rory then don't use it.

Otherwise they're both nice.

@Mulledjuice , I agree. I think OP is either in Scotland,or planning to move there; the Wowy/Vovy issue is probably less likely there.

I can’t say Rory, my “r” sounds like a “w”. Sadly DD gave DGS a name with “r” in its first syllable, following a consonant, which the surname also has, and I really struggle to say his name. Speech defects are miserable and embarrassing.

My baby is called Rory and he’s 21 🤣🤣 I still love it and I’ve only ever met 3 in my life!

ETA he also had a speech impediment when he was younger but it was cute not weird!

I can say Rs normally, but Rory always seems to come out 'wrowry' for me, so I get it! It's a lovely name though - I prefer it to Henry slightly.

I like Rory. I can see some may say it Wore-wee but that's cute anyway. DD has a friend called Leila and I call her Wee-wa cos she's cute and that's what we do in our family.

No I say it as it's meant to be said. However, a workmate really struggles with her 'r's and would pronounce it with a 'w' sound.
