Namechange because it’s possibly quite outing.

Is Terry due a revival as a boys name? It’s my son’s name and we haven’t met another under the age of about 50! He was named after his grandad, at the time I hated it but it’s grown on me, so under the guise of a name change I wondered what honest opinions are of the name.

No. It reminds me of a twat who gave me a black eye.

I like Terry more than Terence - and Terry does feel (to me anyway) more like a whole name than all the Alfies and Albies and Archies of recent years.

It’s very old-fashioned and I don’t think it will ever be popular again. Yes it’s a grandad name even for my generation and I am 60!

Having said that, all the Terrys I have ever known were lovely!

I think it is quite cute. Better than some of the made up names with daft spelling.

Probably not due a revival for another 10 or 20 years. But that will be cool for him, and all his mates will have names that have become dated.

Terry is a teenager now, has two younger brothers who by the time they came along I had a strong opinion on both names so it’s hardly like I am some beaten wife because my DH had a name he wanted to use and I had nothing better.
