What does the name Julian make you think of, what overall vibe does it present, etc.?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I also think of Julian Kirrin being bossy and officious and telling Anne to tend to lunch whilst he and the others go off and apprehend some working class scoundrels and patronise some poor farmer's wife.

But if I met a real life Julian and he was cool I could re-adjust my perception. It's not a terrible name.

Blonde, floppy hair, probably likes coke. Bit of a knob but harmless enough.

Julian Sands, Julian Bream

i like it as a name.

ScullyD · Yesterday 15:44

Julian Assange and Julian Fellowes, creator of Downton Abbey 😂 very different!

Working class or foreign scoundrels. And there was occasionally a local country policeman who didn’t take them seriously, so Julian had to go over his head to the Detective Inspector in the big town.

And yes to the patronising of some rosy-cheeked farm wife who was apparently so under-employed that she asked nothing better than to rustle up giant picnics at will for four passing children and a dog.

He was awful! 😂😂😂

Fanny and Quentin should have recognised this early on and as soon as he was capable of tending to his own needs they should rowed across to Kirrin Island and left him there without any means of escape.

Makes me think of cunty lil’ picnics and being classist for no good reason.

And making your ten year old sister do all of the washing up…

Random321 · Yesterday 17:29

I don't think it's posh at all. I think it's awful.

DramaAlpaca · Yesterday 17:36

To me, it's in the same ilk as Rupert, Tristan, Hugo and Quentin. Quite traditional public school posh. I don't like it much, tbh.

SerendipityCat · Yesterday 17:47

I’m old enough to remember Julian and Sandy, the resident outrageously camp characters on Round The Horne, and the almost equally camp actor Julian Orchard. Oh, and the late classical guitarist Julian Bream.
So either camp or a bit posh. Sorry.

I went to school with a couple, solid farming families, sensible and fun.
Along same lines as Robert, Michael, Peter.

I could imagine Sam Smith wearing that costume... unfortunately.
