What does the name Julian make you think of, what overall vibe does it present, etc.?

Roman empire
Barnes
Famous Five
Good strong name due for a comeback.

Wimpod · Yesterday 08:37

Yeah famous five for me. 😄

I do know an adult one, mostly gets called Jules.

I'd say he's not a stereotypical Julian TBF.

Berlinlover · Yesterday 08:43

Posh and gay. I have a lovely cousin named Julian, a little bit posh and not gay.

jessicablu · Yesterday 09:26

A middle class, middle aged man, wearing corduroy trousers and a colourful neckerchief.

Griselinia · Yesterday 09:27

Long white fingers.

MyCloak · Yesterday 09:37

For a boy, Julian in the Famous Five. Supposedly responsible and mature with pleasant manners, but actually repellently patronising, managerial and sexist, and almost certainly grew up to be a Reform councillor.

For a girl, Julian of Norwich. Medieval anchoress responsible for the first surviving texts written in English by a woman. V cool.

comoatoupeira · Yesterday 09:37

Posh and not very attractive

Griever · Yesterday 09:39

It’s a fabulous name. Love it for a boy

MeetMeOnTheCorner · Yesterday 09:41

My neighbour. Helpful and pleasant. Julian Clary but it’s easy to pick one person off the tv and assume a baby will be associated with them. Or from a book written by someone from a very different era and didn’t like children.

Nitgel · Yesterday 09:41

Arch drude Jilian Cope.

I love the name its a off beat name.

SalmonOnFinnCrisp · Yesterday 09:43

Classy / non chav name

Julian is probably a very good egg and not an "alpha" or manosphere type.

Probably quite cool

I like it

Letmebe01 · Yesterday 09:43

It’s a bit wussy.

SpottyPyjama · Yesterday 09:50

Male ballet dancer

I love the name Julian, but I’ve never had a little boy to be able to use it. I liked it ever since I read it in my Postman Pat books as a child - his son was called Julian.

Desert76 · Yesterday 10:09

I had a school friend called Julian. He was lovely, kind, cheeky, left to go to boarding school as a cathedral choirboy.

DB also had a school friend called Julian. He was a little bit full of himself, but nice enough.

Both my Dc also have had classmates called Julian.

One was half German, his mum called him “Yuli”, which I thought was very sweet.

None of them have been “posh” although I suppose they were all middle class.
None blond either.

I like the name.

Purplecatshopaholic · Yesterday 10:15

Lovely name

NamingNoNames · Yesterday 12:59

Julian Clary. I dislike the name.

Timeforatincture · Yesterday 13:03

I'm Julian and this is my friend Sandy

Twoshoesnewshoes · Yesterday 13:06

Also blond, wet, bit snivelly

cheapskatemum · Yesterday 13:09

John Lennon’s son. Also a good friend from primary school. He was intelligent & not particularly sporty.

littlemousebigcheese · Yesterday 13:17

Wet lettuce kind of man, weedy

Mousespoons · Yesterday 13:22

I think julius actually meant golden haired… so maybe that’s where the blonde thing comes from

i I know a lovely older Julian, arty and plays bluegrass

GhostOrchid · Yesterday 13:30

I think blond, floppy hair and sensitive because of Julian Sands in A Room With A View.

Julian Clary and Julian and Sandy give it gay vibes.

It’s a nice name on its own terms though.

MyCloak · Yesterday 14:08

Julius is a lot nicer. Both the Juliuses I know are kind and terrific-looking.

SurleyTurnip · Yesterday 15:32

Julian Bashir of off DS9.
