I like May, Lydia and Maisie. Some of the names are usually abbreviations of longer names, and I'm not so keen on that. I do like Millie but I know too many dogs with that name at the moment. It would still be nice as a short version of a longer name.

Calliopespa · 21/05/2026 11:06

Was going to say the same: I don't mind some of the abbreviations, but to me they are just that, and not really a full name.

I'm going to say Heidi is my favourite!

tanktopper · 21/05/2026 11:18

Favs: Heidi, Lydia
Least favs: Tammie, Mabli (never heard this before - sounds like name from the Jungle Book to me)

HollyGolightly4 · 21/05/2026 11:27

Faves- Heidi, Lydia

Like- Cassie, Millie (although could be short for something else)

Don't like- Maisie (personal preference, Maize- just makes me think of someone ditzy. Apologies if that offends anybody!!)

Tusktusk · 21/05/2026 11:43

I like Heidi and Lydia.

The others feel too much like shortened names.

It's pronounced Mai-zee, not Maize though. I

Strawberrycheesecake7 · 21/05/2026 11:49

I really like Lydia. I considered it for my baby girl.

KnitWitsAnonymous · 21/05/2026 12:24

Lydia is my favourite

csg376 · 21/05/2026 12:46

I love Mabli.

Heidi, Lydia and Cassie also nice.

NamingNoNames · 21/05/2026 12:52

Cassie - like
May - meh, overused as a middle name.
Tammie - seems dated (Tammy Girl, Tammy Wynette). Tammy spelling is better. Tamsin is nice.
Mabli - I don't think it works unless you're Welsh, and there are much nicer Welsh names
Millie - ok if short for something
Heidi - like but Hi-Di-Hi
Lydia - like but not Lyds. Lydie is great.
Maisie - ok

Depends on the surname but Tamsin or Lydia are the best IMO.

timoteigirl · 21/05/2026 13:00

Apart from May
Heidi
Lydia
Maisie

I wouldn't necessarily realise they are not nicknames.

Tammy or Lydia

What about Kaylah or Hazel or Daisy or Rosie

I know, but it makes me think of maize. I just don't like the name.

Mumofgirls2017 · 21/05/2026 13:21

Cassie or Heidi

pouletvous · 21/05/2026 13:21

lydia or
heidi

the others no!

user293948849167 · 21/05/2026 14:31

Cassie - nice but I would want a longer name on birth certificate, but don’t like Cassandra much

May - sweet, but maybe better as a middle name

Tammie - prefer Tammy spelling and would put Tamara/Tamsin on BC so she has options

Mabli - love it, assuming you are in Wales and people will be able to say it

Millie - it’s ok but a bit boring

Heidi - I like

Lydia - one of my favourite names

Maisie - same as Millie, bit boring and overused

miniaturepixieonacid · 21/05/2026 14:58

Cassie - really sweet but I would go with Cassandra (which I think is beautiful), Cassidy or Cassia (in order or preference) as a full name.
May - like it but it seems like such a 'filler middle name' that it sounds almost strange as a standalone.
Tammie - indifferent to it. Nice enough but wouldn't choose it. I do like Tamara.
Mabli - like it. Never met one. It's very sweet.
Millie - inoffensive but I don't find it interesting enough to ever want to use it.
Heidi - quite like it
Lydia - not one I'd choose but elegant and classic - good name.
Maisie - cute. Not sure I'd want to be an adult Maisie but there will be loads so sure it will be fine.

If you're open to longer names then I'd choose Cassie/Cassandra. If not then I like Mabli best.

Sparklinggreen · 21/05/2026 15:18

Heidi and Cassie are my favs.rest not so keen on

MiddleAgedDread · 21/05/2026 15:20

Lydia is nice, Heidi is ok, really don't like the others.

LasVegass · 21/05/2026 15:24

Heidi and Lydia.

Daphnedolittle2 · 21/05/2026 15:54

Lovely names. I personally wouldn't choose an abbreviation as a full birth certificate name but I know plenty do.
I love Tammy!! I also really like Maisie and Cassie and think they can all work as full names.
The only one I really don't like is Millie, it's so popular now due to all the Amelie/Amelia/Emilias and isn't substantial enough as a full name. I do really like Amelie nn Millie though.

CieloElmers · 21/05/2026 15:55

I like Heidi and Cassie

I actually like Cassandra. It has classical vibes and is not overused.

Myoldbear · 21/05/2026 16:48

I think May is lovely for a baby actually born in May, which it sounds like yours will be.

I like names that make sense like this!

Thewalrusandthecarpenter · 21/05/2026 16:52

I like Lydia but not the others. Agree with a PP that Cassandra is nice.

Pemba · 21/05/2026 16:56

I love Lydia.

Cassie and Millie are nice but should be short for something else. Usually people say Cassandra for Cassie, not that fond of that one, but I have also seen Clarissa, with Cass/Cassie for short, and that's nice.

Tammie, not sure, but I do like Tamara and Tamsin.
