Isla was top on our list, then she came out and I just knew she should be called Rose...it wasn't even on our list. Bizarre.

faireyqueen · 22/06/2008 10:50

Mrs Macaroon, thats funny, we are thinking Rose as a middle name!

Isla Rose would be lovely.

chonky · 22/06/2008 11:04

Orla

champagneandroses · 22/06/2008 11:07

I like Isla

Bucharest · 22/06/2008 11:14

Orla,
Isla is going to be very "now" and then be seen as very faddy.

uptomyeyes · 22/06/2008 11:18

Orla - DS3 was going to be Orla or Lydia.

One of his best mates is Isla.

Heated · 22/06/2008 12:19

My spellchecker changed Orla to Oral which is reason enough not to choose it imo.

Isla is lovely. Also like Iris and Iona in a similar vein.

There's a horrible definition for Lola in one of the urban dictionaries but how much it's a genuine slang word or just totally made up I don't know. I like Lola as a diminutive of a longer name, think it's too casual otherwise.

Caz10 · 22/06/2008 12:21

I don't think Isla is faddy, but then I'm in Scotland and it's a traditional name here.

Isla or Orla

SummerC · 22/06/2008 12:55

Personally, none of them.

greenelizabeth · 22/06/2008 13:12

love Isla, but it's bang on trend, Orla is pretty and unusual. Lola is just too insubstantial and sexual. Perhaps Eloise with nn of Lola ok though. A Lola should have a proper name to fall back on.

Mummywannabe · 22/06/2008 13:27

We have chosen Isla Rose for a girl (subject to her looking like something else)due in 2 weeks, despite my dad saying what happens if she marries a man called ....white she will be Isla White. . Still love it though

chilledmama · 22/06/2008 13:30

Have friend you also MNs and her DD3 is called Orla and its a lovely name

hayley2u · 22/06/2008 13:46

love them all. isla fisher, she was very pretty, orla quite irish but stunning.
lola is lovely but aint there a cartoon character called lola and charlie

throckenholt · 22/06/2008 13:48

my preference would be Isla, followed by Orla - don't like Lola though.

Anglepoise · 22/06/2008 14:18

Like all of them

woodward · 22/06/2008 14:22

Not isla thats my little ones name!

kittywise · 22/06/2008 14:54

They'e all 'ok'( well apart from lola which is horrid), but why don't you find something at bit less 'run of the mill'? There are so many girls with those names atm.
