Cooper, Remi or Luca?

Which one would you pick in order of preference?

Luca is the best by a country mile

Remi would be second choice and Cooper third but not keen on either

It’s a bit like calling your child Pierre if you aren’t French. People wonder why you have chosen a name associated with another country and Luca will be asked a lot which side of the family it’s from.

My nephew is Luca, he's six, I know of two babies born in the last month that are called Luca, I think it's going to be a pretty common name soon. Personally I don't like the other Remi makes me think of the Ratatouille film and Cooper sounds American and a bit cringe

The only Remys I know are both female.

His peers won't ask him. It's 7th most popular name in England and Wales (if OP is living in England and Wales anyway). It's been popular for quite a while and will seem extremely normal to his classmates etc.

I can honestly say I've never heard anyone's first name and asked "oh which of your parents is X nationality". Bizarre!

@Heidi2018 , because using names from a different language or culture seems not very classy. The names tend to be faddy and date badly, and often they're dated in the original country.

Just because you wouldn't doesn't mean that others wouldn't. I've asked people.
Most of them don't have a connection and they say the name differently.

@Bristolandlazy , it's very common already. Lucas and Luke have also been very popular.

Cooper - It'snever been to my taste but it is less popular
Luca - Only like it for an Italian

@Heidi2018 , more than one reason. They sometimes get very popular then stop being used. Karen and Michelle spring to mind.

Remi for a girl and Luca for a boy.

The only Remy I know is a boy. I'm fairly sure that traditionally it was a boy's name.

Remy sounds masculine while Luca sounds feminine.

Luca although I dislike it.
