Which one would you pick in order of preference?

Lol, why are people so HORRIBLE, she obviously likes these three names so if you deeply don't, is there any point at all in just insulting her, rather than staying out of it? She asked "which one would you pick?", not "are you really mean this morning?" 😆

love Luca - don't like the other 2 but prefer Remi to Cooper

Me too.

Luca sounds like a girl’s name. I’m not a fan of Remi. I like the name Cooper.

I'm interested in the comments about Luca being girly. It's definitely a male name in Italian and sounds quite masculine to me.

I think the C looks nicer written than K in Luke, and Luca is more elegant. Luke has Dukes of Hazard vibes for me. Yeeee-haah!

Pennyfan · 25/02/2026 16:26

These are dogs’ names surely? Lucas would be nice.

Cooper is a dogs name.

Where I live there are plenty of Remis, they are all girls.

I like Luca.

Berlinlover · 25/02/2026 16:33

@Calliopespa Anything ending in “a” just sounds feminine to me. I’m Irish and a lot of male names in Irish end in a. If I’d had children I would not have given a boy a name ending in a. Just a personal preference.

You are right that I cannot think of many male names in English that end in a, but I only hear an Italian name really when I hear Luca.

If you had met the Italian Luca I knew when young you'd love it!

Bigearringsbigsmile · 25/02/2026 16:41

Luca is also the abused child in the Suzanne vega song

clarrylove · 25/02/2026 16:42

Luca is Italian, I prefer Luke if you have no heritage. I've not heard of Remi but it sounds rather feminine to me. Cooper is a profession, surname or car!

Rhubarbandcustardd · 25/02/2026 16:43

Remi
luca
cooper is a dogs name For me

Meet Remy

ginasevern · 25/02/2026 17:03

Luca is at least a "proper" name. Remi is sort of something and nothing and Cooper is a dog.

DurhamDurham · 25/02/2026 17:34

Luca is very popular where I am, so many boys and a few girls with that name.
I don’t like Remi, Cooper is ok I suppose. It does seem to be American to use surnames as first names.

KayEmAy · 25/02/2026 17:43

Team Luca

pictoosh · 25/02/2026 17:44

Luca is nice.
Remi is an unusual yet rather boring name, inoffensive.
Cooper is my least favourite...makes me think of those t-shirts and hoodies you get which have inexplicable American nonsense written on them , ie, "Chicago 1984". Cooper is the name equivalent of those. Sorry. X

In fairness, Remi with the spelling Remy is an old French name from Remigius, and is certainly a proper name.

Cooper is an old trade like Mason (stonemason) or Fletcher (maker of arrows) or Smith, and meant a maker of casks or barrels. I personally am not a fan of those old surnames used as first names, but I think it has a bit more legitimacy than, say, Fido!

hattie43 · 25/02/2026 17:53

Luca

dinoapple · 25/02/2026 17:59

Luca, but it is very popular currently where I live, if the name being common is something that matters to you. Personal preference I like Luke or Lucas more.
Cooper isn't my taste but is ok and I think if I knew one it would grow on me as it would be associated with the child.
Very much dislike Remi sorry.

Cat1504 · 25/02/2026 18:01

Remi or luca
definitely not cooper

Cat1504 · 25/02/2026 18:02

But Luca is very common these days if that bothers
I only know girl Remi s

RonnSeall · 25/02/2026 19:49
  1. Luca
  2. Remy (not Remi)

then Cooper

Heidi2018 · 25/02/2026 20:30

Intrigued as to why people think the OP can only use Luca if she has Italian heritage 🙄🙄🙄🙄

mathanxiety · 25/02/2026 20:31

I agree with @RonnSeallwrt using the Remy spelling.

PieLoe · 25/02/2026 20:31

Remi
Luca
Cooper
