These are our top runners, I have a clear favourite and so does DP but they’re different.

help us to sway one way, which do you like best? Which do you know more of?

Franklin.
Because he could be Frank, Frankie or Fran.
Lennon might end up as Len.
Maddox as Mad.
Len and Mad don't sound great 🙂

IamEarthymama · 18/02/2026 20:41

Maddox!
i absolutely love this name. I know a young man called Maddox and as he is so wonderful it makes me smile.
It is modern but not ‘uneeek’

Vlavlg · 18/02/2026 20:45

Sorry not keen on any of them. Sound very American but if that’s the vibe you’re going for Franklin is OK.

NamingNoNames · 18/02/2026 20:45

None of them are my taste but:
Lenny is great
Frank is fine
Maddox - best of the three on your list but I'd use it as a middle name

ImPamDoove · 18/02/2026 20:46

All dreadful.

FuzzyWolf · 18/02/2026 20:47

I don’t like Mad as a nickname but I know a lovely Maddox so it gets my vote.

faithfultoGeorgeMichael · 18/02/2026 20:47

I know a Maddox who is known as Mad Dog if that makes any difference, he is a wild one thou. I know a few Lennons and all are Lenny, Franklin is best imo - I like Frank

mathanxiety · 18/02/2026 20:48

Lennon is fab.

Franklin is OK.

Not keen on Maddox.

BoleynMemories13 · 18/02/2026 21:02

Franklin (Frankie) and Lennon (Lenny) have nicer nickname potential than Maddox.

I don't have great personal associations with Maddox, to be honest. None of them are really to my own personal taste, but I think Franklin and Lennon are far preferable to Maddox.

Arlanymor · 18/02/2026 21:03

I prefer Maddog.

Ophir · 18/02/2026 21:03

Lennox?

Ukholidaysaregreat · 18/02/2026 21:05

I assume you are trying to wind Mumsnet up?

NamingNoNames · 18/02/2026 21:09

I like Madoc.
Maddog sounds rabid.

Why? I think they’re nice names.

traveltraveltravel78 · 18/02/2026 21:27

Masdox is the best in my opinion.
Lemmon the worst.

GinandRunning · 18/02/2026 21:28

We have a Lennon , he’s 20 now and we’ve never shorted his name . He’s Lennon and he’s fab

abracadabra1980 · 18/02/2026 21:28

Sorry OP-all awful.

TheNameWasOnceChosen · 18/02/2026 21:32

Not awful names at all!

I prefer Franklin.

GinandRunning · 18/02/2026 21:34

They are all great names OP

StormyLandCloud · 18/02/2026 21:37

Sorry, all a bit chavvy

🤣🤣🤣 not chavvy at all

ImpatientlyWaitingForSummer · 18/02/2026 21:42

I always find it bizarre when people comment on a “what’s your favourite out of these three” threads to state that they’re all awful, why comment 😂 hopefully you wouldn’t change your mind based on an anonymous random person not liking the names!

Anyway, my three in order:

Lennon
Maddox
Franklin

Congratulations on your upcoming little one!

Hiptothisjive · 18/02/2026 21:47

Out of these (and personally I don’t like any) I prefer Maddox. Franklin is a bit try hard and sounds too Benjamin Franklin and Lennon is forever John Lennon. Maddox very North American - top 200 names.

NamingNoNames · 18/02/2026 21:48

@ImpatientlyWaitingForSummer , because if we all posted 'Awww there all gorgeous' it would be pointless to start a thread.

Elisirdamour · 18/02/2026 21:51

I like Maddox best.
