Not due until august but having a suprise 4th!
I already have 3 sons, Leo, Dylan, and Max.
Don't know the gender yet but the only other boy's name i love is Flynn. DH is half irish.
Girl's names i like are Saoirse, Penelope, Pearl and Calliope.
I quite like Raffy for a boy but worry it sounds pretentious!

Flynn is great and goes with your sons' names. You might like Dexter, Blake or Otis?

I like Penelope and Saoirse from your girls' names. What about Orla or Erin?

SomethingAboutNothing · 08/01/2026 08:46

I quite like Raffy for a boy but worry it sounds pretentious! Quite the opposite.

Flynn is great. I don't think you need to look further, but along the same lines:
Finn, Felix, Ralf, Lorcan, Callan, Callum.

Girls: Fleur, Fern, Cassie, Connie, Nell

@Icouldwriteabookonmydisastrouslife ,of the three, only Leo is a top 10 name. (Max 44, Dylan 64). From your list, Jack, Freddie and Lucas are in thetop 25 but not top 10.

Emmz1510 · 08/01/2026 11:45

Does it need to be an Irish name?

I don’t particularly like Raffy. Flynn is ok but I like Fionn (Finn) better. Other names I like are Christopher, Jude, Reuben, Theo and Aaron.
I like all the girls names you’ve suggested but I would shorten Penelope to Penny which I think is gorgeous! Also Niamh, but it’s very popular I guess.

miniaturepixieonacid · 08/01/2026 12:08

I like Flynn and Raffy and don't think Raffy is pretentious (though I would use Raphael on the birth certificate).

I love Calliope from your girls' names.

How about: Conor, Callum, Keiran, Finn, Jules, Jared, Jasper, Oscar

CrazyCatMom · 08/01/2026 12:24

Ruairí (Gaelic Rory).

I think it works well with your other boys’ names and also honours your husband’s Irish roots.

AvocadoJam · 08/01/2026 12:52

Love your name choices!

How about Oscar? I also like Joshua, Myles, Cameron, Tristan or Alexander

Lollylavender · 08/01/2026 17:07

Flynn is nice, but I prefer Quinn.

Raffy i don’t like at all - Riff Raff

Quim. [sorry]

HellerHighWater · 08/01/2026 17:44

Love Saoirse, from your list, and Flynn, not Raffy, but so many good suggestions on here, particularly like ones suggested by @miniaturepixieonacid , loving the Irish names!

Calliopespa · 08/01/2026 18:25

Flynn goes well with your other boys.

Raffy isn't only a bit pretentious, I think it is also a bit wet.

To me it's a name for a puppy - and even then, probably a cockapoodley sort of cross.

tangobravo · 08/01/2026 18:59

Love your boys names! They were all on my list. We also had Fred, Ben, Gus, Robin and George. I'm not keen on Raffy.

I like your girls names but they seem a different vibe to your boys names? Maybe that's fine though! We liked Nina, Rosa and Eliza.

OnLockdown · 08/01/2026 19:05

I prefer Rafa to Raffey.
What about?
Jude
Luca
Emile
Nico
Rudy
Felix
Elias

schnubbins · 08/01/2026 19:07

Fergus

Thedevilhasfinallycaughtupwithhim · 08/01/2026 19:09

Rafferty?

tarheelbaby · 08/01/2026 19:26

Leo, Dylan, Max and ...
Flynn is perfect; Finn (Fionn) and Quinn are good too and so is Fergus. Jude and Rory are also possible as are Reuben or Noah.
I agree that you should avoid Raff(ert)y.
For a girl:
Jude or Quinn
Fiona (F of Fionn)
Mary/Marie/Maria/Mariah
Eve
Iris
Colleen
Sheila

Mumofgirls2017 · 08/01/2026 20:07
