How to pronounce Dahlia?

Im not a fan of the Day-Lia pronunciation and much prefer Dahl-ia or Dahl-ya.
Dahl-ia comes out naturally for me I’m northern.

How do other people pronounce Dahlia in the UK?

The baby I know with this name is pronounced Dah-Lia. I had no idea the flower was pronounced day-Lia and most English speakers seeing an “ah” spelling are going to say that as in car, bar, father, etc.

@VikaOlson The name being Dahl and lots of people saying Dale is pretty much exactly like the name being Rose and someone saying Rosaye

@shoopshoopdedoo , I’d say “Dar-lee-ah” As I don't know if you sound the R or if you say it to rhyme with Mia, I suggest that you ask your friend how she says it.
