Struggling for girl names - please help!

We are having a baby girl in early June. I like heaps of girls’ names, but my husband only likes a few. Here is the list we both like so far:

Sienna
Summer
Nina
Nicole (Nikki)
Danielle/Daniela (Dani)
Sam
Brooke
Lana

Middle name is most likely Cara (for family reasons), unless we choose Lana or Nina, in which case we may need a longer one. We already have a daughter, Eloise.

Grateful for any thoughts, either on our names or any similar names!

I like Sienna and Summer best, but Lana and Nina go well with Eloise too. To me, Nicole, Brooke and Danielle sound a little dated, sorry. Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Pranksters · 23/12/2025 13:37

Sienna is so ‘meh’, it’s overused. I work with kids and it definitely feels like generic girl’s name.

I like Summer, Nicole and Danielle/a.

wannanamechange · 23/12/2025 13:41

I love the name Nina.

MissyB1 · 23/12/2025 13:50

Brooke and Nina are my favourites off your list, not Sienna though!

Limon87 · 23/12/2025 13:52

Love Nina and Summer on your list - here are some of my faves

Cora
Lola
Orla
Ada
Ava
Mila

DinoDances · 23/12/2025 13:52

I like Summer, Nina and Brooke best!

HugoYorway · 23/12/2025 13:55

Eloise is pretty but the names in the list don't have the same vibe.

I like Nina
Sienna - seems a trendy name that will date
Summer - dreadful.
Lana - wool (or anal in reverse)

Dated, 1970s/80s names:
Nicole (Nikki)
Danielle/Daniela (Dani)
Sam
Brooke

Cara - like. Could you use it as the first name?

HugoYorway · 23/12/2025 14:04

Verity, Constance, Tamsin, Estella, Camilla, Tamara, Annabel, Matilda, Sabina

Mumofgirls2017 · 23/12/2025 14:06

Youmightnotliketheanswer · 23/12/2025 14:10

I like Sienna, Finally and Lana best. The only Brooke I know is always scrapping with other teenagers and I wouldn't want the association!

mynameisthebestone · 23/12/2025 14:16

Love Nina. I've known it as a shortening for Serena, which I think you might also like given your shortlist.

Hazelmaybe · 23/12/2025 14:47

Jenna?

Dottyie · 23/12/2025 15:19

Sienna, summer and Brooke

NotrialNodeal · 23/12/2025 15:20

Nina.

chunkyBoo · 23/12/2025 15:27

How about illiana ?
lana backwards is anal so I’d avoid that

Nursemumma92 · 23/12/2025 15:29

Nina the nicest by far.

However I don't think Cara sounds nice with any of the names despite it being a lovely name.

Could you use Cara as the first name?

Cara Sienna
Cara Nicole
Cara Danielle/Danielle

Gagamama2 · 23/12/2025 15:30

Out of your list I would vote for Nicole, although personally I really love Cara and it goes with Eloise. Maybe good as a first name?

other names with Eloise vibe:

Antonia
Vivienne
Juliette
Margot
Annette / Annie
Anastasia
Sofia

GoneWoman · 23/12/2025 15:32

Lara
Nina
Ava
Clara
Evie
Freya
Hannah
Olivia
Zara

StationSquare · 23/12/2025 15:41

I think Nina is the stand out name there.
Not a massive fan of Danielle, probably because I’m from Essex where it gets said Danyell. I was nearly called Danielle and I am pretty pleased not to have been.

MissMay95 · 23/12/2025 16:02

Ah thank you all. Some lovely names here. Dated is the issue, my DH seems to love those 1970s/1980s girl names (more the nicknames).

Thanks for all the suggestions.
