What’s your honest opinion? This is my top contender for DS1 due in 2026 but having worries over popularity recently?
how many do you know?

One age 86 another similar age, his grandson age 30 has it for a middle name.
Love it might be Frankie when younger?

Moreteaandchocolate · 29/11/2025 17:25

I quite like it - and Frankie is lovely when he’s little.

schoolsoutforever · 29/11/2025 18:29

I love the name. I have met no young Franks but plenty Frankies. I'm not keen on the latter but love Frank.

DarkEyedSailor · 29/11/2025 18:31

I know a fifty year old Frank, a Franklin the same ish age and a little Frankie. I love it.

ItsmeMargo · 29/11/2025 18:33

My grandad was called Frank, he hated it! The only Frankies I’ve ever known have been girls… Not keen.

Baddaybigcloud · 29/11/2025 18:34

classic!! Would have been my sons name if my husbands best friend wasn’t Frank

ElsieJay · 29/11/2025 18:34

Not for me, sorry.

wakeboarder · 29/11/2025 18:36

Love it

Astrabees · 29/11/2025 18:36

The only one I knew hated it and called himself Fran instead.

thatoldchestnut · 29/11/2025 18:37

I like it.

RealEagle · 29/11/2025 18:39

I’ve got a grandson frankie he’s now 13,we call him frank most of the time .So good choice .

BeWellJ · 29/11/2025 18:39

Always seems like the sort of name people call a baby for a joke, like calling the dog Dave. So it's a no from me.

catin8oot5 · 29/11/2025 18:40

My grandpa was Franklin. Like Frank. Frankie is dreadful for either sex

ThankGodItsAutumn · 29/11/2025 18:42

I know a teenage Frankie and Franklin so don't see why not.

Shedeboodinia · 29/11/2025 19:10

We have a teen Frank in the family. It's a great name!

FigurativelyDying · 29/11/2025 19:22

I met a gorgeous baby Frank last weekend. Lovely name. They call him Frankie or Frank. We also have a good friend aged 67 who is Frank, so I am predisposed to like the name anyway. Go for it. I had reservations about my son’s name as it was v old fashioned and I only knew old men with that name. By the time he got to school he was one of several in his year

HoldingTheDoor · 29/11/2025 19:25

It’s such an ugly and harsh sounding name imo. I can’t imagine looking at a lovely newborn and thinking that I’d call him Frank.

Peternell · 30/11/2025 05:14

I love it.

muddyford · 30/11/2025 05:34

Love it as DF and DGF's name.

Mariammaom · 30/11/2025 07:12

I only know Francescas known as Frankie

EleanorReally · 30/11/2025 07:31

i like it, but only because my friend's grandson was called that

Gratedcamembert · 30/11/2025 07:40

I really like it but too much of a wimp to choose it myself. Not keen on Frankie either, which I guess would be inevitable.

BrickBiscuit · 30/11/2025 07:46

Talk to Frank

IstillloveKingThistle · 30/11/2025 07:49

Superb name .

Alongside Teddy , Vinnie etc

Love it . I really do.

So much better than all these made up pretentious names these days that seem to get getting worse with each cohort at school.

Go for it 💙

Calliopespa · 30/11/2025 11:06

I'll be "frank": I don't like it.

It always makes me think of Frank Spencer.

Franklin is the name of a President or a cartoon turtle.

How about Fred, Freddie, Frederick?
