My favourites:
Yasmine
Alanna
Nadia
Samara
Sofia

Khalid
Yusuf

But these are also probably the names that I encounter most frequently.

Congratulations.
If you are in the UK I’d avoid any that are likely to be mispronounced or need correcting. The ones with brackets.
I like Samara and Sofia.
I really would avoid Fatima even though I’m aware of its significance.
I like Kaseem and Yusuf.

176509user · 28/11/2025 15:36

Yasmin
Habiba
Sofia

Musa
Farook

KnickerlessParsons · 28/11/2025 15:42

Sulayka - love it
Qamara - like it
Habiba - love it
Alanna - thought this was an Irish name!
Sadiya - like it
Samara - love it

Musa - love it
Farook - like it
Ibraheem - love it

Helpmefindmysoul · 28/11/2025 15:49

Alana and Ibraheem although I’d spell it Ibrahim.

What about Noor or Noora for a girl.

What about Adam for a boy or Adnan /Aydin.. boys list is endless.

BeNoisyFish · 28/11/2025 15:49

I like Nadia and Samara.
Yusuf for boys.

user1492757084 · 29/11/2025 05:13

Names I like enough to use, in order ..

Alanna
Sofia
Jasmin

Musa
Quasim - spelt the predictable English way and like the start of Quasimodo who is another positive association.
Khalid

Saying Farook really fast could sound like a swear word.

Other ideas ..

Noor
Ayesha

Lufty
Kamahl

tallyoh · 29/11/2025 06:49

I know an Amna, which I love.

I think it’s a variant of Amina, which is also lovely.

Sofia is lovely but it is very, very common now. One of my daughter’s has about five in her year.
Khalisa and Samara are soooo beautiful sounding and not overused.

NormaSars · 29/11/2025 10:12

Khalisa (car lisa) - not with that pronunciation. Kh isn't a C sound.
Khalid will get mangled - Car-lead, Har-lead, Kal-id...
(non-rhotic Rs)

Habiba is too much
Musa - banana

Laila
Aliyah
Aniyah
Hanah
Soraya

I love Noor. I can't stand Nadia. I've never met a nice one.

For a boy I like Z name's

Zakir
Zain
Zaid

I also like
Omar

BeNoisyFish · 29/11/2025 10:56

Samara is so cute, easy name but unique and could be shortened easily.

I love Noor - my friend's little girl's name 😊

Also love Omar and Ibraheem/Ibrahim

You sound nice.

I'm very nice. I'd get fed up with all the Khalid variations, they annoy me without them being my child's name, and my dear friend Musa calls himself Banana.

I mean, he says 'I'm Khalid' and the people who hear him say it, repeat it as Kar-leed, Kar-lid, Har-leed, Hal-id... Why?

Edited

I dont see the similarity between Musa and Banana regardless if your friend calls himself that. I dont see the name Musa/moses and associate it with fruit.

You might be very nice indeed. But to me, Your post come across cheeky and sarcastic. Apologies if you were not, but thats how I read it.

Are you muslim?

I like all of them apart from Nadia. I don't know what it us about it!

I especially like Musa, but that might just be because I've known a few that were (and I hope still are!) all just really lovely boys 😂. When you work with children it really influences opinions on names!

Judgejudysno1fan · 29/11/2025 12:07

My top choices for boys are Quasim/Kaseem and Khalid which hubby likes too!

My favourite for girls are Sulayka and Maimoona

Just added 3 more to the girls list now though.

Anissa
Malika
Sumayyah

@Judgejudysno1fan , the Latin or botanical name for the genus a banana belongs to is Musa. and I know the name Musa is the equivalent of Moses.

Why is it cheeky to point out that a name might get mispronounced?
