We just can’t find a name we agree on 🤦‍♀️
our original name list:
Cass/Cassie
Juno
Nova
Maya
Remi
Kaia
Kali/Callie
Tess
Wren (ruled out as too popular)

We struggled with the name game while I was pregnant but were sort of half decided on thinking she’d be a Cass or a Kali but neither of them are settling well on her. OH LOVES Shea but only wants to spell it Che which is a hard no from me so back to the drawing board. I love Juno but he’s vetoing. We’ve been round and round in circles for what feels like forever. Please help, mumsnet hive mind! Open to any and all suggestions 🙏

I think she looks like a Tess! How about Romy? Fern? Robin? Hazel? Jessie?

We finalised one of our daughters names on the way to the registry office as we'd been bouncing between two names!

I quite like Tess, from your list. I have always gone for old, traditional names for mine though. Currently at the nursery I'm working in Elsie is very popular right now and so are names like Lottie, Rachel, Freya, Violet, etc so older names are coming back into popularity. Tess or Cassie would fit in to the general tread. I like Shea too, but only with the Sh spelling.

SunnyKoala · 25/11/2025 21:16

Both cross off the ones you can't live with, then your least favourites, until you are left with two or three to decide which suits her best.

CheeseIsMyIdol · 25/11/2025 21:25

Those seem mostly nicknames.

how about Renee’?

Margot
Madeleine nn Lainey or Maddi
Melissa nn Liss/Lissa

Doihavetogotoworkdotcom1 · 25/11/2025 21:26

I love Effie - I had a great aunt Effie and she was lovely. I love Famie (short for Euphemia) too, for similar reasons

Euphemia is a cracker of a name, it is just so grand 😀 my Grans, Grandmothe e was Euphemia but apparently she went by mimi,

Tanefan · 25/11/2025 21:29

I’ve been a teacher for well over 20 years and have never come across a single Wren!

pinkspectacleframes · 25/11/2025 21:32

I love Wren and Nova. How about Una?

Teathecolourofcreosote · 25/11/2025 21:36

Kaya
Calla

Going by your existing list

Or
Christie

Edited to say that although suggesting things similar to many on your list, if I had to vote I like Tess

Love Nova

I don’t.. reminds me of the festival.

Moneyordream · 25/11/2025 21:41

I have a Chloe and Louise. Louise was going to be Marian originally but moved it to her middle name. I never see any other Louise's so it's nice that her name is common like others

I heard a baby Annie the other day,I thought that was lovely.

If I had a girl she was going to be Aneira (Annie). It means very snowy in Welsh.

LotsOfSmallThings · 25/11/2025 21:43

Love Romy, that’s definitely a contender! Also Calla is very pretty. Iris and Sylvie have come up lots - I really like them both but OH is less keen. I’m not super stressed over it and def don’t want to rush the decision but equally feel like we’re no further forward with naming her than we were 6 months ago 😅 however I do feel like the right name is out there, just waiting to us to find it! I’ll update the thread when we’ve made a decision but in the meantime feel free to keep the suggestions coming 😁

Also I taught a Callista once.

ODFOx · 25/11/2025 21:45

Looking at her sweet little face I think that she’s a Kaia or Kya ( pronounced similarly). It’s very pretty (without being too soft) and so is she. Congratulations.

Rituelec · 25/11/2025 21:46

Keziah?
Leah
Juniper
Tori
Helena
Sasha
Sofia
Penelope

He likes Eden, you like Ivy. What about Evelyn - that seems like a good combination of those two.

Shes absolutely gorgeous, congratulations!

timoteigirl · 25/11/2025 21:48

From your original name list I like Maya best. As you like Tess and Cass, what about Tessa?
Tina, Jana, Hanne, Reva, Noomi, Halley/ Hallie
vote for Lyra

ExperiencedContractor · 25/11/2025 21:48

I also know an Iselin which may cross both your’s and DH’s style.
