Written as it list like this I might think you were a big fan of TV shows such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Malcolm in the Middle or Gilmore Girls (although Rory from that is female).
Individually I wouldn't really think anything much apart from maybe Donovan I would think was an old family surname that you wanted to keep going.

DemonsandMosquitoes · 20/10/2025 07:50

Xander - Made up. Alexander is the proper name
Rory - dull, old fashioned

SomeHorse · 20/10/2025 07:55

Bluntly, I’d think a parent had terrible taste in names. Apart from Rory which is inoffensive.

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 20/10/2025 07:56

Xander - continental
Rory - nice
Wes - geezer
Reese - this spelling is for peanut butter candies, not people
Donovan - Jason

Remy - Ratatouille
Chase - kiss chase
Christopher - yawn
Nico - bland

Tbrg · 20/10/2025 08:01

Xander - shortened version of Alexander - nice but a bit wet sounding.

Rory - I like this name, my favourite from your list. Makes me think of a rugby player, I don’t know why because I’m not into rugby and don’t know any of their names!

Wes - American weirdo who lives in a trailer.

Reese - I always think of rice/lice (even though I know that’s not how it’s pronounced) when I see this name, I hate it, the sound of it is like nails down a chalkboard for me.

Donovan - common surname, awful first name.

Remy - a rat 🤷🏻‍♀️, was it the name of the ratatouille rat, not sure.

Chase - paw patrol character I believe.

Christopher - boring.

Nico - an idiot who thinks he’s all that.

ImpunityJane · 20/10/2025 08:25

Nico - cooler version of Nick

BasilandTom · 20/10/2025 09:05

Xander - uber posh
Rory - a bit of a cheeky, off beat boy
Wes - I don’t think of a little boy with this name, I think of a slightly rough around the edges 40 something.
Reese - Middle class, sensitive little boy.
Donovan - a bit try hard of the parents to be different and off beat.
Remy - Quirky little boy.
Chase - All American
Christopher - very nice. Quite posh boy.
Nico - Nuevo rich. Quite naughty.

I’ve been a primary school teacher for nearly 20 years, so have quite strong opinions on names 🙈

JudgeBread · 20/10/2025 10:40

Please bear in mind these are entirely my personal thoughts and if you love any one of these names don't be put off by whatever random association I've come up with 😁

Xander - the edgy kid in highschool who was too cool to be Alex
Rory - McCann, who I love and was largely the reason I stuck game of thrones out until the end
Wes - Anderson movies, which I generally dislike
Reese - Witherspoon. If this is meant to be a boy's list I'd go with Rhys or Reece
Donovan - Jason. Also draught horses, I has a Clydesdale called Donovan who we nicknamed Dirty Donny due to his penchant for rolling in shite
Remy - I see a waifish androgynous french woman with a long cigarette in hand and those tiny trendy sunglasses that look oh so chic on a supermodel but make me look like Batou
Chase - Australian surfer dude
Christopher - I have an uncle Christopher who I hate so no pleasant associations with this completely normal name
Nico - My first thought is Niko Bellic honestly

RosesAndHellebores · 20/10/2025 12:28

With the exception of Christpher, dreadful and not proper names.

John, William and Charles are fine names along with: George, Edward, Thomas, Henry, James, Nicholas, etc, but I like classic names .

MaleficentQueen · 20/10/2025 12:59

Xander - Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Rory - Dog name.
Wes - Anderson.
Reese - Peanut Butter.
Donovan - Bully from Inbetweeners.
Remy - Rat (Ratatouille).
Chase - Paw Patrol Dog.
Christopher - Robin.
Nico - Formula One.

PGmicstand · 20/10/2025 13:10

Nothing much. Most are names I wouldn't pick. I'm not keen on Reece or Chase, but fundamentally there's nothing wrong with any of them.
