My name has a male and female variant
It was number 36 the year I was given it
It was acceptable in the 80s
It's a bit French
It's also a little bit Essex
Most people shorten it

It's French.
It's quite unusual.
It's never been popular but I think it's a nice name.
Part of it means little which is ironic because I'm big and tall.

Paulette ?

@HelloVeritas I was going to post a clue very similar to yours so I when I saw your post, I expected to see that we have the same name, but no!

So- my name was very common in the 70s and 80s. There were at least another 5 in my year at school, including one in my class. There are three ways to spell it (mine is the simplest). It is a Hebrew name whose meaning has something to do with sheep 😂 As names go, I quite like it- have certainly never hated it or wanted to change it.

Rachel?

YourPeppyAmberTraybake · 14/10/2025 20:04

It’s been around for at least three hundred years, it comes and goes in the list of popular names. There is only one spelling of the name.
