My name has a male and female variant
It was number 36 the year I was given it
It was acceptable in the 80s
It's a bit French
It's also a little bit Essex
Most people shorten it

Lucille?

Nope

Mine is a character from Peep Show :) and also a Roald Dahl character.
Born in the early 80's, I was the only one with this name at school, now I think there are hundreds!

It's French.
It's quite unusual.
It's never been popular but I think it's a nice name.
Part of it means little which is ironic because I'm big and tall.

Assuming from your username that you’re female, then that seems a bit mean 🤣. What was your parents reasoning behind “Jeremy”?

I am female but not actually a lesbian nor a nana. 😂I name changed to it because of a thread and never got around to changing it to something else.

When I was born in 82 I was the first girl to be born with that name in the hospital for 25 years, but these days it’s a very popular name.

i could be a princess or a spider.

Is it Mandy?

No, that’s probably one of the names I’d prefer my own to. @Glowingup has probable come the closest to it with one of her guesses.

I can think of a terribly well spoken actress and a cartoon character from the 80s with the longer version, and a singer’s wife and a character in a sitcom with my version.

My name is a nickname of a longer name. People often try and call me a different nickname of the longer name - which I dislike.

Everybody I’ve ever met with my name hates being called the other nickname.

Penny/Penelope? They’re both very pretty names though.
