Not sure yet but what's your opinions on the name 'Lorena' I think it's uncommon but still elegant and timeless. What's your suggestions and what middle name would be good?

Lorena Gwen
Lorena Cecily

Lorena Hazel
Lorena Sibyl
Lorena Juliet
Lorena Daphne

Not wild about it.

What about Marina? Similar sound and (IMO) much prettier.

HugoYorway · 06/10/2025 15:57

I don't like it. Loretta is nicer.

I'm none the wiser. Is it the same sound as Loretta but with an N instead of TT?

notatinydancer · 06/10/2025 16:01

I like it. I know one , unfortunately she gets called Loz 😬

Lor-en-a

En as enter or en as in house?

Zempy · 06/10/2025 16:09

I would pronounce it Lor-ray-nah. Like Lorraine with the ah sound at the end.

Agree with PP, Marina is better.

Lemonadepie · 06/10/2025 16:29

Lorena pronounced as it’s written, Lor-en-a is lovely - pretty and not overused.

Nice but reminds me of a marina where boats are

Reminds me of Lauren Goodman of Towie that was her daughters name.

Lorena and Loretta are old lady names in the US, in the same vein as Beryl or Edna here. Popular in old days but not ones that are making a come back.

As I’ve spent a lot if time in the US, they’re not names I like. But what do I matter, some woman on the internet, use them if you like them.

Slothey · 06/10/2025 17:06

I really like Lauren. Never quite popular enough to feel dated now, I think.

NotInGuatemalaNowDrRopata · 06/10/2025 17:21

What about Loredana? Popular in Italy, shortened to Lori.

AgentPidge · 06/10/2025 17:36

I think Lorena is uncommon enough for people not to have preconceived associations with it. You should go for it if you love it. It just sounds like a bit of a variation of Laura or Lauren.

ninjahamster · 06/10/2025 17:36

I think it is pretty x

Lemonadepie · 06/10/2025 18:00

Lorena, nickname Lori, is lovely!

Eatyourmanicotti · 06/10/2025 18:06

Immediately made me think of the prostitute in Lonesome Dove.

In general it’s an ok name though. The Lauren Goodger thing would put me off too.

MercurialMouse · 06/10/2025 18:35

There's a beautiful American country song called Lorena, it's beautiful so that makes me love the name ❤️

That isn't how Lorena is pronounced though! It's Italian. Lo-ren-a.
