Peach is a great name

My daughter is named Peach! She’s now 16 about to get her GCSEs and we all love her name. We gave her very sensible middle names but so far she has shown no need to use them. Wishing you and your daughter a lovely time together, whatever you name her.

Lol. I'm assuming you are joking!

Did you mean to start a thread? Or were you trying to reply on another thread?

Iocainepowder · 17/08/2025 06:30

I think you meant to reply to the other thread where someone wanted to name their child Peach.

Emanwenym · 17/08/2025 14:08

It's a nice surname.
The same is true for Eden, Wren, and a whole pile of other surnames used as first names.

What's Peach's twin brother called, @twinmummystarz ?

miniaturepixieonacid · 17/08/2025 16:36

I think it's cute but I would assume it was a nickname/term of endearment than her actual name.

Hasn't done Peaches Geldof any harm, I guess!

pambeesleyhalpert · 17/08/2025 16:39

I LOVE this name! Really wanted it for DD but husband wouldn’t agree

Hiptothisjive · 17/08/2025 16:42

Yeah agree this is either in response to having already named your kid Peach after a recent thread about this, or an attempt to try again.

Either way, still no.

Askingforadvice78 · 17/08/2025 16:43

It's a fabulous name. I've used traditional names really but I love it when I meet someone whose parents have used an unusual names. I'm a teacher and love a register with variety! It fascinates me how, by age 11, children simply suit their names. Love it.

AlertEagle · 17/08/2025 17:06

😂

AmyDuPlantier · 17/08/2025 17:46

It isn’t 🤣

She died of a heroin overdose so it's not been great for her...although tbf I doubt that was down to her name.

Omg, I'm mortifed. I genuinely had no idea! The last I heard she was a minor celebrity. So sorry.

Emanwenym · 17/08/2025 18:12

@miniaturepixieonacid , she died over 11 years ago. She was only 25 and she left 2 tiny children.

QuinceTamarillo · 17/08/2025 23:05

I am here for it in principle, but right now I think it has a strong association with the character Peach Salinger from You and perhaps also Princess Peach from the Nintendo franchise. Peaches feels a bit different; one of Boris Johnson's children is called Cassia Peaches.

danglingcarrots · 17/08/2025 23:23

I like it, also love Apple (used by Chris Martin and gwyneth Paltrow) but would be never use them!
Cherry and Clementine are also very cute imo.

SeasalterSadie · 17/08/2025 23:24

Kumquat is my favourite....

ToKittyornottoKitty · 17/08/2025 23:27

Who are you even talking to OP?

Nothanksreally · 17/08/2025 23:33

I liked the name peaches until it became code for ass 🍑

She killed herself with a massive overdose after years of depression and addiction. Are you thinking of Cassia peaches who is BJ's daughter

miniaturepixieonacid · 18/08/2025 00:09

I'm so embarrassed about mentioning Peaches Geldof now. I have both a bad memory and not a great track record of keeping up with news, especially people based news. I think I migh vaguely remember it now it's been said. When I said it 'didn't do her any harm' I was thinking a documentary I thought she made but I'm now thinking it could have been someone else as it certainly doesn't seem like more than 11 years ago. My original comment sounded flippant and I feel like I've been really disprespectful to the memory of a young woman dying tragically early. Really sorry, please don't let it derail the thread any further!

Why don’t you just edit the post so people don’t keep reading it if you’ve realised how wrong you were?

CrumpledBlouse · 18/08/2025 09:13

I know a Plum, and she’s a vacuous, 20something horror.

Spunspun · 18/08/2025 09:15

I'd be a bit concerned about how much the peach emoji gets used, and why.

jollygoose · 18/08/2025 09:18

The trouble is if you have a name like Peach pretty though it is, if the child turns out to be plain and awkward she won't feel like a peach and might find that embarrassing

alwaystrying1234 · 18/08/2025 09:32

I know 2 people with the name peach , one with it as their 1st name and the 2nd with it as there middle name. I think it’s a nice name
