Clara or Eliza

Would anyone mind giving me their preference between Clara and Eliza. Both are possibilities for our daughter as well as a couple of others. I’m unsure which I prefer though. Thanks

Both are lovely! I know an Eliza aged 14 but no Claras. I’d probably say Clara would edge it as you might get Eli with Eliza whereas Clara will probably just stay as the full name 🤔.

Eliza tops it for me. I prefer Lara to Clara.

Slightly prefer Clara as it feels fresher, but both would be lovely choices.

I love Clara. Eliza is fine and it’s another pretty name like “Isabelle” but Clara has an edge over it, IMO!

Clara is my favourite name at the moment - it would be my choice if I had another DD.

I like Eliza too but there are loads of teens called Eliza round here - they all go by name plus surname.

We must have similar taste OP as my eldest DD was almost called Eliza (went for Isla in the end) and second DD is Clara. Decided against Eliza as felt it was likely to end up being shortened. Both beautiful names tho imo!

Not sure what I like most. A friend has had a baby this year and named her Clara.

Clara for me of the two - retro prettiness. I think the “lie” sound in Eliza isn’t as attractive.

I prefer Eliza! I like the z sound in it. Clara for me always feels a bit serious and straight laced.

I don't really like either of them, but Eliza is the better of the two.
Clara is nice if you use the 'Claira' version, but that seems to have fallen out of use. Cara is nicer because it doesn't have the Cl sound.

Love both. If you absolutely forced me to pick, I'd go for Clara.
