Help me choose between these two names…

Keira or Eva

Both work similarly well with our last name. One is DH’s favourite and one is mine. We are both happy with either name but wondering how public opinion is on each option.

Keira is ok but I do much prefer Eva. It's far more classic.

Keira is prettier and more memorable. There are a lot of E names around and I think Eva would get lost in the sea of Ella's, Ava's and Evie's.

Eva is a classic, albeit one that has become very popular (especially if you count the similar sounding Evie’s and Ava’s too). But I love its international feel and its simple elegance.

Keira is possibly more interesting as it’s a less commonplace name, but it feels less classic to me than Eva and has spelling issues (it should be spelt Kiera from the original Irish Ciara but Keira Knightley’s father apparently misspelt it on her BC and since she became famous that spelling is used more often).

For me, I think I’d pick Eva of the two (although personally I love palindromic Eve even more).

I really like both!

Eva is an absolutely beautiful classic, the downside is the huge popularity of Eve / Ava / Evie names atm. She is likely to have other girls with these names in her class.

Keira is also beautiful and much rarer / more distinct. The downsides to me are the spelling variations and less classic feel.

I think I’d choose Eva at a push but it’s a close one!

Eva is very overused and Keira sounds harsh, so neither for me.
