Frank. I prefer Vincent in a vacuum but dislike Vince and Vinnie so wouldn’t use it for that reason.

Neither name would be my choice as I think they're a bit done to death. They'll be changed to Frankie or Vinnie which are Italian film mobster names.

I prefer Xavier as it's not too common and quite cool and classy.

my son is called Charles ,charlie a cute nickname .So if you dont like vinnie go for frank ,frankie a cute nickname when they are small. Then they have a smart name for as they grow

Frankie has been in the top 50 boys names for years. It’s not old fashioned any more.

Both of my children have common, traditional names and I absolutely hate their nickname options! I will always call them by their full names, just as my husband is called his full name by his family members and nickname by everyone else.

Go with whichever full name you prefer. I personally much prefer Frank to Vincent. Though Francis is even better - Francis nn Frank

I think there are probably just as many Vince’s as Vinnie’s (Vin seems a bit rarer). But yes, the likelihood is that once Vincent is a teenager, it will get shortened by his mates as many boys names seem to. I must admit I personally still prefer Vincent over Frank though, and nothing is guaranteed -he could well be one of the few that doesn’t get his name shortened (especially if he insists on the full name himself).

Btw: I know your pain - Edward was a top contender for DS but I hate Eddie. In the end I chose something else. But if I have a DS2 I’m still really drawn to it…

I prefer Frank. I know a Vincent who goes by Vince - never Vinny. My son has a name that can be shortened, but my husband and I have never shortened it, occasionally other people do - but if my son is asked he tells people he prefers it not to be shortened.
