What would your children be called if they were named after where they were possibly conceived?

My future baby could maybe be 'Alora' if it is a girl, or maybe be 'Holt' if it is a boy.

(OK, so they might also just be called 'home', but I tried to think of where else I'd been in the weeks around that time!!)

Brendon. [Full name The Stag Hunters Inn Four-Poster]. Brendon would have been an OK name if DD had been a DS I guess. Holiday to optimize chances while TTC on clomid.

My former boss would have been a Pontefract. One of those odd TMI things but it kind of suits him.

Shitemum · 24/05/2008 23:45

Mine would both be called 'Bed'.
Could be confusing, good thing we didn't really...

Clary · 24/05/2008 23:49

DS1 would be called Melton Constable (place in Norfolk).
Sounds quite cool actually

the other two would be called after their homw town I'm afraid. We don't go away any more

divejaney you are in Derby then? At least Chad is a name!

practicalparent · 24/05/2008 23:52

cityangel · 25/05/2008 00:05

Lille

tribpot · 25/05/2008 00:22

Bury St Edmunds, or to be more precise Drovers Mead. (I could be more precise than that, given I know (a) what bed it happened in and (b) what ep of the West Wing I was watching the actual moment of conception occurred! Btw, this doesn't mean dh and I were watching telly whilst up to it, I felt the moment of conception later).

stealthsquiggle · 25/05/2008 00:26

tribpot you just created and then shattered an image there... The image I have of DD's conception is the vanilla pods from the (large) number of vanilla martinis I had just consumed

puffling · 25/05/2008 00:26

Saint Mary

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 25/05/2008 00:41

All four would have home address names though DS1 could be called 'kitchen table' I suppose. Not very trad though.

stealthsquiggle · 25/05/2008 00:47

'Pine'? 'Mahogany'? 'Formica'?

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 25/05/2008 01:12

Oak - a good strong name.

stealthsquiggle · 25/05/2008 01:17

Am liking 'Oak' - although given that DS is 5 and already wants to know the derivations of his names I am not sure I would want to be explaining it whilst sat around the aforementioned piece of oak! (DS's are all family names so easy to explain, and we didn't have room for 'vanilla' for DD )

havalina · 25/05/2008 01:42

DD would be premier lodge watford seeing as we lived apart and I know she must have been conceived there. Ds would be a general maple cross lol

hairtwiddler · 25/05/2008 04:34
