Archie and.....??

Hey all

Just found we're having a little girl. Already have a 6 year old boy, Archie. This little lass is an IVF baby <3 We have a few names we like but interested to hear thoughts and new suggestions. I really love Alba but upon googling it, wow I didn't expect it to be so divisive! I thought all alba's were just cool chicks. People seem to be outraged by the name :D

Other thoughts
-Evelyn (means 'wished for child', IVF baby, cute) - issue is might shorten to Evie and that is my god daughter who I see frequently
-Iris
-Ivy
-Mollie/Millie?
-Annie
-Hope

Any thoughts?!

Evelyn is lovely, especially with the meaning behind it. The (young) Evelyn that I know that uses a nickname goes by Lynnie. Your other names are lovely too.

I also like Miriam, it means beloved, I think it goes nicely with archie and could be shorted to Mimi if you wanted.

I really like Miriam! But like Miri for short rather than Mimi 😍

Oh I love Miri! Archie and Miri is very cute.

LoudPlumDog · 14/05/2025 16:02

Archie and Millie!

AllAroundMyGarden · 14/05/2025 16:02

I was just about to suggest Lily, but then I realised that Harry and Meghan have Archie and Lili (not sure of spelling) so maybe not!

VeryQuaintIrene · 14/05/2025 16:02

How about Lilibet?! Seriously, I like Ivy and iris.

whynotmereally · 14/05/2025 16:02

I love Ivy I think Archie and Ivy are very cute

Shetlands · 14/05/2025 16:05

Celeste
Sylvie
Pearl
Hazel
Marigold

BasketballHoopla · 14/05/2025 16:10

Personally I would avoid both names ending the same way.
I like Archie and Hope

or Rose, Megan, Lois, Hazel, Grace

Calliopespa · 14/05/2025 16:11

I love the spelling Eveline!

Wild card, would you consider Evangeline? It can still be Evie.

I like all the others except I can’t stand Hope. I just don’t like any of those virtue names much, except perhaps Clemency, and Hope doesn’t even have a nice sound to me.

Rose was also on our list but I know she'd become a Rosie as I pet name everything and everyone

I'm not keen, it's the name of the Scottish Nationalist party x

Stripyzebrabra · 14/05/2025 17:04

I love Alba

Sadie
Stella
Estelle

Trundleloop · 14/05/2025 17:12

I was going to suggest Emmeline (Emme/Emmy for short) but think it could be close to your name @emmyloo25 !!

I like Archie & Hope from your list.
Also like Archie & Corah, Archie & Eliza and Archie & Hazel.

I just don’t think it’s anywhere near as lovely as most of your other suggestions.

Calliopespa · 14/05/2025 17:18

Also wasn’t Napoleon exiles there? Or is that Elba? Still makes me think of it.

BoleynMemories13 · 14/05/2025 17:18

Iris is my favourite and has a nice meaning in the circumstances. Your rainbow that came after the storm.

Ivy would be my next choice but I prefer how Iris sounds with Archie, so you don't have two ie/y endings together.

I wouldn't use Evelyn if your God Daughter is Evie.

Alba is a cheap electrical brand. I'm not keen as a name. I'd also give them different initials.

WildCherryBlossom · 14/05/2025 17:21

I love Evelyn, and the meaning! It is not a “male” spelling. It was originally completely unisex (eg Evelyn Waugh and his first wife Evelyn Gardener) but honestly it’s so much more commonly used as a girls name these days.

I think Alba is extremely pretty, but doesn’t work in Scotland. Alma? Means “soul”.

Christmashatglee · 14/05/2025 17:22

Archie & Daisy
Archie & Isla
Archie & Honor
Archie & Eilidh
Archie & Freya
Archie & Moya

TomatoSandwiches · 14/05/2025 17:23

Lola was the name that followed for me.

Archie & Lola

spiderlight · 14/05/2025 17:26

Archie and Megan

(I am slightly biased because we had dogs with those names and they were the greatest canine double-act ever)
