Opinions on Maisie?

We are thinking of naming DD Maisie - opinions?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

A friend's daughter is called it, and I think it's fine. Maisie is now an adult.

You'll probably get several posters saying it's twee, not an adult's name and won't suit a high court judge, but that's MN for you.

Go for it.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 13/05/2025 09:25

I really like the name - am always reminded of this though.

Reddelilah · 13/05/2025 09:47

I don’t like it at all

Readytohealnow · 13/05/2025 09:51

Yuck. No.
Nice on a cat.

LiquoriceAllsorts2 · 13/05/2025 12:28

I don’t like it, not sure why though as I do like Daisy.

Jk987 · 13/05/2025 12:30

i love it!

DramaAlpaca · 13/05/2025 12:56

I'm one of those posters who thinks it's very twee. It's not my style at all.

Moreteaandchocolate · 13/05/2025 12:57

I love it! I know two very cool teens with the name and it suits them well.

Cinai2 · 13/05/2025 12:59

I like it

Igotbluetoothinmybra · 13/05/2025 13:02

I love it, was top of my list if we had another DD but we had a DS ♥️
It does make me think of the cat storybooks but in a positive way! Loved them as a kid.

CharliePoppins · 13/05/2025 13:14

I love it 🥰 I would love to use it if I have another girl.

okydokethen · 13/05/2025 13:33

It’s nice

WtafIsThat · 13/05/2025 15:11

Twee, overused. Always followed with Rose as a middle name.

WonkyPicture · 13/05/2025 15:14

My DS would've been Maisie if he’d been a girl, he’s 23 now. I didn’t use it for DD though as both DH and DS have M names and I wanted a different initial.

I like it.

Love it. Really nice name.

Firsttimebabymummy · 13/05/2025 19:51

I really like it

Notyourfaultbutmine · 13/05/2025 19:53

Quite popular/common where I live. Right from early twenties to little ones. It's fine. Not going to shock anyone.

Emanwenym · 13/05/2025 19:53

It's nicer than a lot of the tired, overused, top 20 names.

Nannyfannybanny · 13/05/2025 19:54

No,old fashioned, but where I live in Sussex,it's a very popular dogs name.

pilates · 13/05/2025 19:54

Not my cup of tea. Sounds ok on a small child.

Willyoushutthefrontdoor · 13/05/2025 20:00

My nephews daughter is a Maisie, often shortened to Maiz. She's 16. Not a name I would pick for my own but our Maiz really suits it

DemonsandMosquitoes · 13/05/2025 20:05

Wet

Catlord · 13/05/2025 20:11

It's ok but I wouldn't particularly want to be called Maisie or a diminutive like that personally unless maybe as a namesake. It's a bit insubstantial. Just a bit 'ok, fine, it's a name'.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 13/05/2025 20:50

Too twee.
