Definitely Jenny

I have a Jennifer. When she was little she insisted on her full name but now she’s 12 she’s usually Jenny or sometimes Jen if she’s trying to be a bit more grown up, I’ve always loved it and haven’t across another girl with the same name yet.

We did consider Genevieve as an alternative which could also be shortened to Jenny/Vivvy/Evie

Lucy.
Both names are lovely.

Jenny in fully or Jennifer? I love Jennifer nn Jenny/ Jen. Bit fresher than Lucy . I like Jenna too which I think is Cornish

Escapingagain · 02/05/2025 16:07

Lucy

netflixfan · 02/05/2025 16:13

My dd is Lucy and she loves her name so do I. It was my grandmother’s name.

kwetu · 02/05/2025 16:19

My step mum is Jenny so my vote is definitely for Lucy

Dustmylemonlies · 02/05/2025 22:34

Prefer Jenny by far.

Would use Jennifer on BC. Also like Jen nn.

However I really like Lucinda!

YesYesAllGood · 03/05/2025 11:34

They’re both lovely, simple names. I prefer Lucy though. I went to uni with a Lucienne and she normally went by Lucy.

Lucy.

I've always found Jennifer to be an unpleasant name! Reminds me of Lucifer. I don't mind Jenny but it isn't as classy as Lucy.

Apologies if any Jennifer's read this! I like you all individually 😂

I agree. I hate my name, Jennifer.
I wish my parents had just called me Jenny. I will happily tell anyone I meet (politely) not to call me Jennifer.

ExquisiteSocialSkills · 03/05/2025 16:39

Lucy.

PatsFruitCake · 03/05/2025 16:46

Jenny

RuthW · 03/05/2025 17:26

Lucy. I dislike Jennifer and just Jenny isn’t a whole name.

PinkFitzpatrick · 03/05/2025 19:15

Do you like the song Jenny from the block? Otherwise… go with Lucy :D

BeaLola · 03/05/2025 19:18

Lucy - beautiful, classic and pretty, easy to spell and pronounce

HugHog · 03/05/2025 19:21

Jenny is lovely!

DefyingGravidy · 03/05/2025 19:24

Genevieve, nn Genny

Avoids the fact that Jennifer was massively common in the USA in the 70s. I think it was less popular in the UK though, so not as dated as say Sandra/ Linda etc

hattie43 · 03/05/2025 23:16

Definitely Jenny

Ddakji · 03/05/2025 23:17

Ooh, that’s tricky, both really lovely names.

I think you’ll know when she makes an appearance.

BebbanburgIsMine · 03/05/2025 23:45

Lucy, because I have one 😊

She’s an adult though

HereintheloveofChristIstand · 03/05/2025 23:50

We have both in the family! Both fab names.
