Surname.

Reminds me a bit of Cartman from South Park.

Love it. Was my boy name but we had a daughter.

I don't love it.

It's not even the nicest of the surname names imo.

But it is relatively uncommon whilst being easy to both say and spell so it's good on that front.

Its not my usual style of name but I quite like it.

Awful. I’ve met a few Carters. Lovely kids and I’ve thought it a shame they’ve had such an ugly name.

Carter Heyward was one of the first brave women to be ordained in the US Episcopal church so very positive associations for me. I've also known nice male Carters.

Carter was on both our girl and boy list, and probably would’ve been the middle name of either as it’s a family name.

My eldest is Carter, he’s 13. I love it (obviously), but both my sons, husband and brother all have surnames as first names so we have a “type”.

Neither he nor his peers are familiar with the band either!

I like names to have a meaning. Brave warrior or something! Something to make the child feel special. I'm not keen on names like Carter for this reason. Someone who drives a cart? Unless there's a deeper meaning?

I like it, my ds has a surname and also seen as an action as a first name. Ignore the surname as a first name hate.
