So I posted a while ago regarding sibling names for our daughter Arabella/Belle/Bella. We now know we are having a boy and I am STRUGGLING with boy names!
I like a lot but don’t love any!

Our list at the moment is:
Theodore/ Teddy/Theo
Harrison /Harry
Zachary /Zac
Jude
Luca or Lucas
Nico

middle name likely Joshua after dad or Jack after my great grandad. Also have a step son Cameron/Cam! Thanks for any help in advance 🥰

What heritage do you and DH have, OP?

I think that as given names Luca and Nico go well with a Mediterranean heritage, not so well with a British one. Nico is a fine NN for Nicholas, which is a nice name.

I like Theodore called Theo or Ted (not so much Teddy) with either middle name

Harrison or Harry with Joshua

Joshua Jude (in that order)

Lucas with either middle name
(Luca the same if you have the heritage)

Nicholas possibly called Nico with Jack

Congratulations!

I like Joshua as middle name, but not with longer fn.
I like Theodore Jack, but this combo might be more common among children called Theodore.
Other suggestions
Fabian
Elias
Frederick
Gregory
Lucian/Lucius
Raphael

IggyAce · 03/04/2025 11:35

Nathaniel nn Nate
Lucian
Ezekiel nn Zeke

iseenyouwithkefir · 03/04/2025 11:35

Out of your choices, I like Zachary or Theodore with Arabella. Although Theodore is quite popular right now, it also has a lot of options if you want to shorten it. I also like Nico, but would use Nicolas/Nicholas as the formal name. I think any of these are nice with Joshua as a middle - or maybe you might use Joshua as a first name?

Christwosheds · 03/04/2025 11:41

Like Theodore/Theo. Really dislike Harrison the most out of your list.
Nicholas is lovely I like Nic or Nico. Lucas I like more than Luca, depending on your family origins.

Barleysugar86 · 03/04/2025 11:45

I love Lucas and Zachary. I also love Nathaniel.

Moreteaandchocolate · 03/04/2025 12:27

Theodore, Zachary and Harrison are lovely.

Do you like

Sebastian (my favourite with Arabella)
Tobias (Toby)
Nathaniel (Nate)
Frederick (Freddie)
Jasper
Felix
Solomon (Sol)
Max
Reuben

baggieAnn · 03/04/2025 12:56

I love Jude.
There are absolutely loads of Harry/Harrisons about

loropianalover · 03/04/2025 13:07

Zachary nn Zac is the nicest I think. There are so many kids called Theo/Teddy/Luca/Jude these days.

I don’t like Harrison at all but I like Harry.

Emanwenym · 03/04/2025 13:44

Theodore/ Teddy/Theo - yuk
Harrison /Harry - Harry
Zachary /Zac - yes
Jude - no
Luca or Lucas - Luca is too popular
Nico - ok

I love Jude.
There are absolutely loads of Harry/Harrisons about

Jude - absolutely gorgeous name. Theo and Harry will have 5 other Theo and Harrys in their group/class.

Bluelavenders · 03/04/2025 14:20

I only like Nico/Nicholas from your list. The others are so overused and dull imo.

I think these would go well with Arabella
Sebastian
Quentin
Caspar
Vincent

Thanks for all the advice/ suggestions so far! Finding it so so tricky with boys names. Had a list of girls names that I love but really struggling.
In regards to some of the names being popular, it did cross my mind. However, in my daughters private nursery she was in for 2 years, and in her current preschool class(where she will go in to reception, hopefully), of 40+ children there has only been 1 Zac and one Harry from the names on my list. We met one teddy on holiday but not come across any Theodore’s or Theo’s although I know there will be lots out there but similarly by step son doesn’t have any in his class if any of these names. I think there are so many different names these days it’s not quite the same as when I was at school and everyone had one of 5 names 😂. Arabella has got more popular too but she’s never had another in her nursery or preschool but there was one in her ballet class.
We are British however, I am quarter Irish and quarter Italian and dad is quarter Caribbean regarding heritage, totally get the point regarding Luca/ Nico. I think Nico is cute and not so common but not a fan of Nicolas!
Not getting any closer to finding the name, he may remain nameless until he’s here!
I like the suggestions if Sebastian and Nathaniel but dad isn’t keen 🙄 he likes Elijah and Gabriel which I don’t mind but don’t love!

Just wanted to say what beautiful names! Both children and baby names!

I always think with a 3rd (not sure you are planning this to be you last baby?) a shorter name always seems nice.

Like Cameron, Arabella and Zac or Max or Jude. Or any 1 syllable name.

Good luck x

ThisZanyPinkSquid · 03/04/2025 15:38

Dexter, Harris, Teddy, Declan, Casper were all on our list

Out of all of your names I’ve loved Jude, Harrison & Sebastian (Sebby) for short. I work in a primary school and out of the 3 we have ONE Sebastian. Lots of Noah’s, Elijah’s, Harry and Leo’s. Also have 1 Arabella & 1 Bella in my class and I think Jude does fit them both so well!

mathanxiety · 03/04/2025 16:12

I think Harrison or Zachary would go best with Arabella and Cameron.

I think in a blended family it's important that names reflect both styles of existing names.

Cameron is a surname name, and Harrison is too. Zachary goes well with Cameron imo and Zach and Cam would be cool together. Harrison and Cameron sound nice imo. Or Harry and Cam. I think both names also go well with Arabella - A and Z initials are great, and Arabella/ Harrison and Belle/Bella and Harry sounds good too.
